LNHS on the GO!

Supporting Every Learner Through the ARAL Program

From tutors’ sessions to parents’ orientation, LNHS continues to take meaningful steps in addressing learning gaps and supporting student success. Most recently, the school marked the successful rollout of Day 2 of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program.

Spearheaded by Teacher Kim Syrel R. Galleon (ARAL focal person), School Head Imelda A. Burigsay, and Head Teacher I Jeaneth Mae T. Llantada, the program highlights the school’s proactive approach to learner recovery and academic support.

The ARAL Program is a national learning intervention initiative established through Republic Act No. 12028 and implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd). Designed to help struggling learners catch up with their lessons, the program promotes inclusive and quality education for all.

At LNHS, the ARAL sessions are conducted 30 minutes daily from Monday to Friday, including a weekly check-in or assessment to track progress and provide targeted assistance.

The dedicated ARAL tutors include:

Gray Stallions charge past Onse Pinky

The Grade 12 Gray Stallions showed their strength as they defeated the Grade 11 Onse Pinky to win the Bracket B championship of the intramurals basketball tournament. Led by Most Valuable Player (MVP) Ahmir Agamanos, the Stallions played solid offense and defense to secure the title.

The Bracket B games were held last September 4 at Luna National High School, where Grades 10, 11, and 12 competed for the championship in front of a lively crowd.

The first game featured the Grade 10 Flying Phantoms against Grade 11 Onse Pinky. The Phantoms started with energy and good outside shooting, but Onse Pinky stepped up their defense in the second half. With better ball movement and timely shots, they pulled away and earned a spot in the finals.

In the championship game, the Gray Stallions quickly showed why they were the top team. Onse Pinky tried to stay close with long-range shots, but the Stallions dominated the rebounds and scored on fast breaks.

The finals opened with Jerick Suclad of Onse Pinky hitting a three-pointer that cut the lead to two, exciting their supporters. However, the Stallions answered back as Borja scored on a layup to keep their lead. A few plays later, Jotreb Palad assisted Earl Du for a jumper that widened the gap.

In the closing minutes, Onse Pinky pushed hard on defense, but Agamanos powered through two defenders for a key basket. That shot sealed the win and gave the Stallions the championship, with Agamanos being named MVP.

With the victory, the Grade 12 Gray Stallions will represent Luna National High School in the district meet.
