I thought she was playing mommy.. but it turns out she’s playing me 🥹
Story time:
My first born daughter gathered her baby dolls and pretend that it is bedtime.
She carefully tucked them in, sang them lullabies, and read them a story. Then she look at me and said, “Mommy, baby doll is crying." Before I could answer, she lifted her shirt and started "feeding" the doll. 🤣
I laughed so hard, but then I found myself tearing up. Because I realized she was simply doing what she sees every day.
And every night, when her little sister is asleep, we have our own special time together. We read books, talk about the story, ask questions, laugh, cuddle, and end the day side by side.
And there she was, recreating all of it.
The feeding.The comforting.The bedtime stories.
The love.
As mothers, we often wonder if the ordinary moments matter. The repetitive routines, the endless questions, the same books read over and over again. But now, God reminded me that they do.
And in her little world of baby dolls and bedtime stories, she gave me a glimpse of how she sees me. Not through my imperfections. Not through the things I didn't get done.
But through the love she feels every day.
Thank you Lord for this season. For the opportunity to nurture my kids and be an example to them. 🥹🙏🥰
