FACTS ABOUT HELL FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE

1. HELL WAS NOT ORIGINALLY MADE FOR MAN.
• It was prepared for the devil and his angels.
📖 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41)

2. HELL IS A PLACE OF ETERNAL PUNISHMENT.
• The Bible describes it as everlasting fire and torment.
📖 “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” (Matthew 25:46)

3. IT IS A PLACE OF SEPARATION FROM GOD.
• Those who reject Christ will be eternally separated from God’s presence.
📖 “Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” (2 Thessalonians 1:9)

4. HELL IS DESCRIBED WITH TERRIBLE IMAGERY.
• Fire, darkness, and weeping.
📖 “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:44)
📖 “…there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8:12)

5. THERE IS NO ESCAPE AFTER DEATH.
• Once a soul enters hell, there is no second chance.
📖 “…between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.” (Luke 16:26)

6. HELL IS CONSCIOUS SUFFERING, NOT ANNIHILATION.
• People are aware of their state.
📖 “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.” (Luke 16:23)

7. CHRIST CAME TO SAVE US FROM HELL.
• Salvation in Jesus Christ is the only escape.
📖 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
