𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟓 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐒𝐏𝐂 ’𝟐𝟔

Two young journalists from the secondary department earned Top 5 finishes in their respective categories during the 2026 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC), showcasing their skills and dedication to campus journalism.

Grade 10 student Phoebreign C. Derije secured a Top 5 finish in Photojournalism – English, under the guidance of coach Karole Joy S. Libadia.

Meanwhile, grade 9 student Julia Rolen Mars Legaspi placed in the Top 5 in Science and Technology Writing – Filipino, coached by Rolly C. Quizon Jr.

School principal Marilyn A. Serapon congratulated the young journalists for their achievement and expressed confidence in their continued growth in campus journalism.

“I am proud of our young journalists, and I am confident that they will have more opportunities in campus journalism after this event. Keep up the good work,” Serapon said.

The achievement highlights the school’s continuing commitment to nurturing student journalists and providing learners with opportunities to develop their skills, creativity, and confidence in journalism.🦁

Bone North Integrated School (BNIS) broadcasters secured second place in both English and Filipino categories during the district’s first-ever Mobile Journalism (MoJo) Elimination held on August 24, 2026.

The competition served as an initial district-level selection for Mobile Journalism, a new category set to be introduced in the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

The activity challenged campus journalists to demonstrate their skills in gathering information, writing, reporting, and producing news content using mobile devices.

Representing BNIS in the English category, Zyryll Cria Pugong earned second place, while Lady Akisha Baltazar also placed second in the Filipino category. They were coached by Karole Joy S. Libadia and Paul Jan L. Ibasco, respectively.

The strong performance of the BNISian broadcasters highlights their ability to adapt to emerging trends in journalism and utilize mobile technology as a powerful tool for news gathering and storytelling.

BNIS Principal Marilyn A. Serapon expressed her pride in the learners’ achievement, particularly given the limited preparation time.

“Knowing the limited time that they had to prepare for this makes me truly proud of our students, who have a bright future in mobile journalism,” Serapon said.

As Mobile Journalism prepares to become part of the Division Schools Press Conference, the BNISians’ performance provides an encouraging glimpse of the school’s growing pool of young journalists ready to embrace new platforms and innovations in campus journalism. 🦁

Bone North Integrated School (BNIS) clinched second place in the District English Festival of Talents, showcasing the learners’ creativity, teamwork, and commitment to promoting a safe and clean school environment.

Representing BNIS, Prince Ecraela, Erico Estoque, and Tricia Mae Calacala presented their advocacy project entitled “Project BNIS,” which centers on ensuring school safety and cleanliness through active participation and responsible environmental practices.

The advocacy highlights the acronym BNIS, which stands for Be Active and Helpful, Nurture Cleanliness, Inspire Action, and Segregate, emphasizing the important role of learners in maintaining a safe, orderly, and environmentally responsible school community.

Through their presentation, the learners underscored that school safety and cleanliness are shared responsibilities that require cooperation, discipline, and consistent action from everyone in the school community.

The team was coached by Normie H. Dapig, whose guidance and support helped the learners develop and effectively communicate their advocacy.🦁

Bone North Integrated School (BNIS) clinched the championship in the Radio Broadcasting category during the District Press Conference held on August 15 at Aritao National High School, earning the team the opportunity to represent Aritao 1 District at the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference.

The winning BNISian radiobroadcast team is composed of Don Elyrich Louise J. Sasis, Ma Leizaire Faye A. Buen, Mary Angelique Costales, Prince JM R. Lauresta, and Karylle M. Abubo, under the guidance of coaches Richelle Jane Reyes and Irish Ferianiza Dilan.

The victory marked a significant achievement for the young team, which was only established last year.

In its first year of participation, the team already secured second place at the district level, before taking the championship this year.

Coaches Reyes and Dilan could hardly believe the team’s remarkable improvement and victory, noting the learners’ dedication, preparation, and determination throughout their training.

School Principal Marilyn A. Serapon congratulated the team for their accomplishment and expressed confidence in their upcoming competition at the division level.

“I have witnessed their hardwork and focus, and I look forward to their good performance in the division level,” Serapon said.

With their district victory, the BNISian radiobroad team will now carry the banner of Aritao 1 District as they compete against the best young campus journalists in the Division Schools Press Conference.

100 𝑩𝑵𝑰𝑺 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒊𝒗𝒆 5 𝑲𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑬𝒂𝒄𝒉

A total of 100 indigent learners of Bone North Integrated School (BNIS) received five kilograms of rice each through the extension program of the Legislative Awareness Week (LAW) of the Sangguniang Bayan of Aritao in partnership with the Tan Yan Kee Foundation on August 11, 2025.

The initiative provided a total of 500 kilograms of rice to selected learners as part of the partners’ efforts to extend assistance to families experiencing financial difficulties and support the welfare of children in the community.

The rice donations were personally distributed by members of the secretariat of the Sangguniang Bayan of Aritao, headed by SB Secretary Johanna Marie A. Dasayon.

Each of the 100 beneficiaries received a five-kilogram sack of rice, providing immediate food assistance to their families while reinforcing the importance of community support for learners in need.

The activity was conducted as part of the Extension of Legislative Awareness Week, which sought not only to promote awareness of the functions and responsibilities of the local legislative council but also to bring its service closer to the community. #

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Officers of Bone North Integrated School actively participated in the symposium entitled "Mind Over Matter: Empowering the Next Generation of Resilient Leaders" as part of the Legislative Awareness Week celebration.

The symposium provided the officers with valuable insights on leadership, resilience, mental well-being, and responsible citizenship, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to become effective student leaders and positive agents of change in their school and community.

With this compelling call to action, Grade 10 student Phoebreign C. Derije concluded her powerful extemporaneous speech, capturing the attention of both judges and audience, securing the 1st Runner-Up title in the 2nd Extemporaneous Speech Competition during the Legislative Awareness Week (LAW) celebration organized by the Sangguniang Bayan of Aritao.

The competition challenged participants to deliver a compelling three-minute extemporaneous speech on the topic: “What measures must be taken by schools and the Sangguniang Bayan to promote Safe Schools?”

Contestants were evaluated based on content, organization, delivery, and their ability to present practical and persuasive solutions to the given issue.

Representing Bone North Integrated School, Derije confidently articulated the shared responsibility of educational institutions, local government officials, parents, and the community in fostering a safe, inclusive, and disaster-resilient learning environment.

The speech highlighted the importance of strengthening school safety policies, promoting mental health and well-being, and encouraging active collaboration between schools and the Sangguniang Bayan to protect every learner.

Derije’s remarkable performance reflected not only excellent communication skills but also a deep understanding of civic responsibility and youth participation in local governance. Students of BNIS once again showcased their talent and creativity as they secured the 1st Runner-Up title in the Bayle sa Kalye competition for the second consecutive year during the 2026 Panagsisibuyas festival.

Demonstrating vibrant energy and cultural pride, the performers captivated both judges and spectators with their synchronized movements and colorful street dance performance.

Aside from their back-to-back runner-up finish, BNIS also received the Special Award for Best in Costume, recognizing the group’s striking and well-crafted outfits that reflected the spirit and tradition of the festival.

The costumes added visual impact to their performance and highlighted the creativity and dedication of the team.

Coached by Maricris A. Ocampo and Mary Grace V. Padilia, the achievement highlighted the students’ hard work, discipline, and teamwork throughout months of preparation.

School officials and supporters expressed pride in the performers for bringing honor to BNIS and for continuing to represent the school with excellence in local cultural competitions.

The bench cheerers of Bone North Integrated School (BNIS) earned 3rd place during the Bench Cheering Competition held as part of the Aritao Patronal Fiesta on March 19, 2026, at the Aritao LGU Gymnasium.

Demonstrating energy, creativity, and teamwork, the BNIS Bench Cheerers impressed the audience and judges with their synchronized movements, spirited chants, and well-coordinated performance.

Their routine highlighted school pride and strong collaboration among the students, earning them a place among the top-performing teams in the competition.

The team was guided by their coaches, Mary Grace V. Padilia and Julius E. Bacarra, who worked closely with the students in preparing their routine for the festive event.

The Bench Cheering Competition was one of the highlights of the Aritao Patronal Fiesta celebration, bringing together various schools and participants to showcase their talents, creativity, and community spirit.
