SELG Honors Teachers Through “Gift of Care” Program

The Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) of Comon Central School, in partnership with the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), organized a heart-warming event titled “SELG Cares: Teachers’ Day Gift of Care” to celebrate Teachers’ Day.

On October 8, 2025, teachers enjoyed free pedicure and manicure services as a relaxing treat. The celebration continued on October 9, 2025, with a simple program of appreciation, where teachers received tokens of gratitude from the SELG, SPTA, and Barangay officials, who also joined the event to extend their support and recognition.

Learners expressed their love and appreciation by giving simple gifts and heartfelt messages to their teachers. The two-day activity truly reflected the community’s collective effort to honor the dedication, care, and hard work of all educators.

Raeyah Ashley P. Lagutan, the Division Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) Secretary and at the same time the SELG President of Comon Central School, joined the three-day Capability Building of the Division Federation of Supreme Elementary and Secondary Learner Government Officers and Teacher-Advisers held at Bagabag National High School on October 10–12, 2025.

Accompanied by their dedicated SELG Teacher-Adviser, Sir Samuel A. Diaresco, Raeyah actively participated in various leadership enhancement sessions and collaborative activities aimed at strengthening learner governance across the division.

The event provided an opportunity for young leaders to develop their leadership skills, share best practices, and foster teamwork among fellow SELG officers. It also served as a platform for building confidence and promoting active learner participation in school and community programs.

Through this meaningful experience, Raeyah and Sir Samuel brought pride to their school and demonstrated their commitment to empowering learners through leadership and service.
