Irnanie A. Enrico, BNHS BE Coordinator.

โ€œBe a light and be lighted.โ€ Ito ang mensaheng nais ipalaganap ni Rev. Fr.

Baco NHS Officially Launches Brigada Eskwela 2026

Baco, Oriental Mindoro โ€“ Baco National High School successfully launched Brigada Eskwela 2026 through a meaningful opening program attended by teachers, parents, students, barangay officials, and other stakeholders who united in preparing the school for the upcoming school year.

Prior to the opening program, a parade was conducted around the community, showcasing the spirit of volunteerism, unity, and bayanihan among the participants. The parade served as a call for community involvement and support for the annual Brigada Eskwela initiative.

The program formally began with an invocation led by Ms. Nolene Viv I. Bajado, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem conducted by Ms. Queeneelyn Cano and accompanied by the BNHS Marching Band.

In her opening message, Ms. Irnanie A. Enrico, Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the program and to the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to Brigada Eskwela. She emphasized the importance of continuing unity and cooperation in ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.

This was followed by the message of the school principal, Mr. Michael R. Alcala, who thanked all individuals and organizations that extended their support to the program. He reiterated the school's goal of creating a safe and child-friendly environment for learners. He also encouraged everyone to uphold the spirit of volunteerism, unity, and bayanihan, emphasizing that every contribution and presence is highly valued by the school community.

Adding excitement and color to the event was the intermission performance of the BNHS Band, whose impressive musical presentation and energetic dance performances delighted the audience and enhanced the festive atmosphere of the program.

Meanwhile, Barangay Chairman Alex Calderon delivered a message affirming the barangay's commitment to supporting the school's programs and activities. He assured the school community that the barangay is always ready to respond and provide assistance whenever needed. He also called on parents to closely guide and monitor their children, particularly those who may exhibit challenging behavior, to help ensure their positive development and success.

Another important message was delivered by Mr. Nilo R. Rabino, SDRRMO Coordinator, who presented the school's plans and initiatives for ensuring the safety and preparedness of both personnel and students. He also discussed the importance of Gender Equality, emphasizing equal rights, opportunities, and treatment regardless of gender.

Furthermore, he clarified the difference between Disaster and Hazard. He explained that a disaster is a sudden event that causes serious damage destruction and loss of property. In contrast, a hazard refers to any condition or situation that may cause harm or injury, such as slippery floors, exposed electrical wires, or flooding.

Meanwhile, Dr. Loida Pigon highlighted that through cooperation and shared responsibility, the school can provide a conducive environment where students can learn, grow, and succeed.

As part of the program, certificates were awarded to each grade level represented by their respective Grade Level Coordinators in recognition of their participation and support for Brigada Eskwela.

To conclude the program, the President of the Faculty and Employees Club delivered a closing message, emphasizing that Brigada Eskwela is more than just cleaning and repairing school facilities. It is a manifestation of unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility in building a clean, safe, and learner-friendly environment where students can thrive and succeed.

Through the collaborative efforts of the school, parents, local government officials, and other stakeholders, Baco National High School once again demonstrated the true spirit of bayanihan in creating a better educational environment for all learners.

โ€Ž The Junior and Senior High School department successfully celebrated Career Day 2026 with the theme, โ€œUnlock Your Future: Explore, Engage, Excel โ€” Donโ€™t Just Dream It, Explore It, Live It, Be It.โ€ The highlight of the event was the much-anticipated Career Costume Showcase, where students confidently dressed up as their chosen future professions.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽEach section selected two representativesโ€”one male and one femaleโ€”who proudly showcased costumes that reflected their dream careers. From aspiring doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, and police officers to entrepreneurs and IT professionals, the event became a vibrant display of ambition, creativity, and determination.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe competition was organized by grade level, where representatives competed to present not only their costumes but also their confidence and understanding of their chosen careers. The activity allowed students to express their goals in a fun and engaging way while inspiring their peers to envision their own future paths.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIn her message, Mam. Loida Pigon, Assistant Principal of Senior High School, encouraged students to take their dreams seriously and begin shaping their future as early as now. She reminded them that every ambition starts with a clear vision and the willingness to take action.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽMeanwhile, Sir Jugen Carolino, Certified Career Advocate, emphasized the importance of KSAโ€”Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudeโ€”in achieving success. He highlighted that while dreams are important, it is the combination of what students know, what they can do, and how they behave that will truly define their future. โ€œSuccess is not just about dreaming big; it is about preparing yourself through knowledge, improving your skills, and developing the right attitude,โ€ he shared.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe Career Costume Showcase served as a meaningful and memorable experience for students, allowing them to take a step closer to their dreams. Through this activity, learners were reminded that their future is in their handsโ€”and that they have the power to explore it, live it, and be it.
