NEWS — In an exceptional showcase of Negrenses’ athleticism and skills, the division of Bacolod City, having representatives from St. Scholastica’s Academy - Bacolod Inc.,clinched the 2nd Runner-up spot at The NIRAAM (Negros Island Regional Athletic Association Meet) Cheerdance Competition held last March 5, 2026, at the SSA-B gym.
Hosted by Ryan Christopher De Paula from Gaynon Dance Company and Polyclass, the competition opened with a parade of athletes, the national anthem, the oaths of sportsmanship, and an inspirational speech by Dr. Ramir B. Uytico, CESO III, who expressed gratitude to everyone for making the inaugural region-wide event possible.
To ignite the atmosphere, the Gaynon Cheering Squad, representing the region nationally, delivered a skillful and technical performance. This was followed by the competition proper, with participants from Escalante City, Bacolod City, Dumaguete City, and Himalayan City demonstrating dynamic and electrifying routines.
While judges tabulated the scores, an impromptu cheerdance showdown allowed five participants from each city to showcase their creativity and rhythm, energizing the spectators even further.
Finally, the results showed Escalante City as the Third Runner-up, Bacolod City as the Second Runner-up, Dumaguete City as the First Runner-Up, and Himamaylan City as the Champion.
The competition not only highlighted the dedication and skill of Negrense cheerdancers but also fostered camaraderie and regional pride.
