𝐏𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚!

Eighty-four graduating students gathered to be recognized during the Pinning and Investiture Ceremonies of the College of Education Batch Pyxis held at the University Gymnasium, June 10.

“You have just arrived on time. Whenever you feel down, please know that although we have the same clocks, but we have the power to run our own time and with determination, may we not allow time to defeat us,” said Joe Arnel Celestial Jr., the Class Valedictorian of the batch.

Appreciation for their efforts and paying tribute to the parents, COED faculty and staff, and the university was the gist of the event.

Batch Pyxis expressed their gratitude to their cooperating schools, Bacolod City National High School and Rizal Elementary School, at Bacolod Business Inn, May 26.

“𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘥. 𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥. 𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭," said Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio, Jr.

In gratitude, the program centered on paying respect and thanksgiving to the cooperating teachers, which honed the 4th-year education students to become professional educators.

The event was soon followed by the Seniors' Ball, which showed off the prowess of the education students not just in the aspect of academic performance but as well as in various entertainment activities.

Batch Pyxis, you all are truly illuminating like a star.

May your light continue to shine brightly that the path of every student you meet will remain elucidated.

Be enthralled as you gaze under the night sky full of constellations and wonders for this May 26, 2023, the UNO-R College of Education graduating batch will hold the Tribute for Cooperating Administrators and Cooperating Teachers and 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 with the theme, “𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬: 𝐀 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞”.

The entire night of celebration will highlight the 4 significant years of the batch’s collegiate journey.

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐞, 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐞!

The Batch Pyxis of College of Education had their Augustinian Recollect Spiritual Exercises (ARSE) with the theme “Let us build together the house of God” today, May 11, 2023, at the CICM Mission Center Maryshore.

The graduating students were able to reflect on their spiritual and physical life which bind them to strengthen their faith and relationship with the Lord. They remained devoted and committed to the activity prepared for them as they find rest in God’s unconditional and unfailing love as they solemnly prayed to God the Father.

The Campus Ministry Office prepared various activities for the graduating students ensuring that they will enjoy during this opportunity to reconcile with the Lord.

May this Recollection remind the Batch Pyxis that rebuilding themselves with the Lord will lead them to burn their fire within—to be more, as they are about to embark the real world.

The Batch Pyxis Practice Teachers ended their Off-campus Teaching Internship today, May 10, 2023.

Indeed, becoming an intern was not easy, but having passion and the will to pursue their dreams of becoming part of the teaching profession empowered them to not just teach but also to learn both from their students and cooperating teachers.

It was a whole lot of a roller coaster ride–there were ups and downs–but all of these taught them to grow and adapt from changes.

Season of Lent

Exhibition of prowess in sports begins!

The opening of this year’s Provincial Meet took place at the Panaad Park and Stadium, afternoon of March 30, 2023.

After a parade, a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Honorable Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson, Negros Occidental Governor, took place to bless the recently refurbished Panaad Park and Stadium as well as the start of the provincial meet.

Ten (10) clusters and areas participated in the said event to represent their schools and cities. Athletes, coaches, students, teachers, and other government officials were also present during the event.

The official games for the Palarong Panlalawigan have started on March 31 and will end on April 2.

Aspire to be more!

On March 29, 2023, the Rizal Elementary School hosted a seminar wherein practice teachers from the Bachelor of Elementary Education Batch Pyxis took part in.

The seminar was divided into two sessions: in the morning, the principal of RES, Mr. Pedro G. Crispe Jr., PhD, spoke on the Code of Ethics while Mrs. Maria Butch Inventor Pasamanero presented “The School Orientation on the Implementation of RPMS/PPST 2022-2023” in the afternoon. Certificates for each session were awarded to the attendees.

The discussions gave the student interns the chance to acquire more than just what future educators need to know— it also awakened their desire to become efficient, effective, and ethical teachers of the future.

And the work of heart has begun!

Embarking on the unraveled field of actual teaching with enthusiasm, Batch Pyxis now stepped forward to their respective cooperating schools at the Bacolod City National High School and Rizal Elementary School, for BSED and BEED programs, respectively, Feb. 13.

Student interns have carried the Recollect Augustinian values UNO-R has bestowed as they eagerly and humbly accepted the roles they now portray as practice teachers.

"Your teaching experience here in our school is a lifetime," Bacolod City National High School Principal Richard Gelangre said.

Driven with passion and perseverance, Batch Pyxis was officially pinned during their send-off and pinning ceremony at the Oratory of St. Nicholas, Feb. 8.

"Practice teachers, may this day serve as [a] reminder of our whys and drive us to be more passionate, dedicated, and inspired. And that, wherever we will go, we hold in our hearts, in ‘Caritas Et Scientia', of what it means to be a part of the cradle of excellence for teacher education," Batch Pyxis President Joe Arnel Celestial said.
