Hi there, my name is Hernie, and I am named after Hernaez Street in Bacolod City, where my dad found me in August 2024 as a tiny kitten, only a month or two old. He was on his way to the Caltex station when he saw me in the middle of the road, crying at the top of my lungs, while motorists passed by, waiting for someone to notice me. I was looking for my mother because I was hungry and thirsty, so I crossed the road. But the cars passing by made me fear for my life. I had to scream for help. Fortunately, my dad noticed me. Seeing no sign of my mother, he took me home and provided me with food, water, and a comfortable place to rest. I was introduced to my mom and eight siblings, who welcomed me with open arms, well, maybe not at first because I smelled stinky and was full of fleas, so my dad had to bathe me with medicated shampoo. I was then taken to the vet for regular checkups, deworming, and anti-rabies vaccinations last February. I also received daily vitamins from my dad.
After ten months, my mom scheduled my surgery because she wants me to be healthy. I underwent neuter surgery on June 22 at the Community Animal Rescue Efforts CARE, Inc. clinic in Mandalagan and was given post-operative medications. Now I am free, kapon, hindi tapon.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for loving me.
