THE JOURNEY
It has always been Jobancom's goal to bring the professional esports scene to the local, creating opportunities for players and talents such as casters and influencers.
This goal was set in 2017, and our journey began with organizing esports events in 2019. It has been a vision that we have steadily brought to life over the years. We are proud to see talents who have been part of Jobancom reach the peak of their careers in esports.
Through our event initiative in esports, our most recent success was hosting the M5 watch party for the community in Bacolod City last November 2023.
Over the years, as digital technology has evolved, we have aimed to explore new heights in gaming. In the second quarter of 2021, we took a significant step by bringing Jobancom into the world of Web3 games, starting with our introduction to Axie Infinity. Driven by curiosity, we delved deeper into how this new digital platform could connect with gamers. This exploration led us to understand the Web3 concept, including blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFTs, and GameFi, where Axie Infinity plays a key role.
Not understanding the market dynamics of Axie, we were hit hard and left clueless about what had happened. This experience led us to realize that GameFi closely follows the trends of the cryptocurrency market.📈📉
Along the way, we decided to take crypto courses and attend Web3 webinars to better understand how the market works. We connected with the Web3 community and leaders, starting with the Crypto Minds group, founded by sir Khaled Al-Dosary, also known as Coach Bluff.
Our curiosity deepened, and thanks to the help of Coach Bluff, we had the opportunity to attend the biggest blockchain convention in Manila back in 2022, the Philippine Blockchain Week.
This experience opened our eyes to what Web3 and blockchain are all about. We met Web3 leaders and crypto influencers like Marvin Favis, Gerry OG, also known as Crypto Pareh, Cryptito, Giu Comia, and Coach Miranda Miner, as well as artists and major entities in the Philippines. We even had the chance to meet top-tier esports organizations and leading players in the industry.
Alongside with the exploration, there we have known web3/crypto platforms such as Binance, MetaFarms, 1Inch, NFT Philippines for digital art, as well as Meat, phygital collectibles from Anotoys, web3 games such as Astro XP of James Afante, Playermon, and many more web3 projects.
Through this experience, we aim to bring events like this and the Web3 concept to Bacolod and Negros, allowing the local community to take advantage of the opportunities that web3 offers. Along this journey of introducing Web3 to the region, we've partnered with crypto platforms, brands, and organizations. We've also connected with Web3 leaders such as Jeff Caceres, founder of Web3 Bacolod; Joerald Pepito of The Cryptology Academy; Maclo Jarmin of Vauxmachina; and Lester Jun Magbo-o of Filipino Web3, who are all actively working to spread Web3 education within the community.
Fast forward, we successfully delivered Web3 events in Bacolod, such as VW3B (Visayas Web3), which brought together Web3 leaders and the community in one event. We also organized Pixelated Art, an educational conference about NFTs and their advantages, featuring special guests such as YGG Community Lead Spraky, YGG Ambassador Kookoo Crypto TV, Ms. Marso Ya, an NFT artist, and Web3 Bacolod Leads.
We have also created our "Project Seedx" where it foster educational initiatives and workshops for the community in terms of new games and web3 platforms. AFK is the first to be launched under Project Seedx.
Moreover, we were able to connect with Binance and had their first-ever community meetup in Bacolod in August 2023. Jobancom also participated in the YGG PH Roadtrip in Bacolod as their esports community partner. Our most recent success was Vortex 2024, which marked the debut of our collaborative event with PBWx last August 2024, supported by Bacolod LGUs and collaborators Philippine Blockchain Week, Blockchain Council of the Philippines, DICT - Negros Occidental Provincial Field Office, Likha, together with our event partners and sponsors. The event was attended by a diverse community who not only enjoyed the fun engagements but also gained valuable insights from guest speakers and explored new web3 projects both in platforms and gaming.
The road has never been easy, but JOBANCOM has achieved its goal of bringing opportunities to the local community for both esports and Web3 through our event initiatives.
We started from scratch, initiating everything from our own pockets. Gradually, we have been able to fulfill our goal for the gaming community and are now striving to elevate Web3 and blockchain events in the local area with the help of our collaborators, partners and sponsors.
We will continue what we have started, to make new memories, open new opportunities, and together we will soar high in unlocking the future of the digital technology and new heights in gaming and in esports.
