All Higher and Basic Education Unit classes will shift to asynchronous learning pursuant to the directive of the Bacolod City Local Government to suspend classes in all levels due to PAGASA's heavy rainfall warning brought about by Tropical Cyclone Crising and the Southwest Monsoon, July 17.

However, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs allows the option for the HEU to hold online synchronous classes if highly needed.

Due to having a "significant" trade deficit with the Philippines (PH), United States (US) President Donald Trump spells out a 20% tariff on all PH exports starting on Aug. 1 as announced in a publicized letter addressed to Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., July 10.

Higher than the original 17 percent outlined in his set of letters last April about the same subject, this three percent mark raises the costs of PH exports entering the US market.
