IF YOU WILL MEET YOU

People are like paintings: you look at them, study them, and at the end of the day, you will realize that every person you meet is either an example to follow or a lesson to learn.

You meet people everyday; some will inspire you to become a little kinder, to smile more often, to work harder, to live better, but some will give you a glimpse of what you would not want to become.

Your life is your choice; your choices will be your life. Everyday, you are making “you.” So the wisest question an observing soul would ask himself is this:

If one day you will meet you,
would you want to be you?

Because one day you will be surprised, you will see you — in the way how your friend talks, in the attitude of your little child, in random strangers who would mirror what you did to them. I hope when that day comes, you will be proud of you.

If one day you will meet you, I hope you would be the kind of friend you would want to become: faithful, kind, trustworthy, dependable, and genuine.

If one day you will meet you, I hope you would be the kind of son or daughter you would want to be: responsible, obedient, diligent, respectful, and loving.

If one day you will meet you, I hope you become the kind of person you prayed to become: CHRISTLIKE.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” - Matthew 5:13-16

I am at my most peaceful state, not when the sea is calm, but when I let the wind take me to where the Master whispers. My heart is most steadfast, not when I am in full control of my circumstance, but when I let GOD have His way in me.

PEACE & STEADFASTNESS are GOD’s gift to those who are willing to trade all their fears for faith, their pains for praise, and their ways for His will.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” - Isaiah 26:3

I am certain that GOD didn’t make flowers so beautiful for nothing. Sometimes, I don’t know if it is conceited to think that He made it for me, because every time I receive one, that beautiful tiny creature never fails to make me smile in whatever situation I am in.

Flowers must be GOD’s remembrances of His love scattered around us so that every time we see or receive them, we remember that we are loved divinely — intentionally, thoughtfully, and unconditionally. GOD can make the world plainly functional, but because of me, and you, He made it extra special: He made it beautiful — He made flowers. And if GOD loves and takes care of the flowers who are of little significance, how much more us whom He died for?

So when time comes and the world makes you question your worth, let flowers remind you, you are not just loved, you are divinely loved by your Maker, and that’s all that matters.

🌸“Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

When you thought it was your effort that made you get through, GOD will prove to you, it was His grace that brought you through. GOD’s grace are those wings that carried you through when you can barely even run. There is nothing you can boast about but the grace of GOD that rescued you.

“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” - 1 Peter 5:10

Today, I met Humility, and I can never forget the impression he made on me.
I’ve met him many times before but didn’t recognize it was him nor bothered to look.
But today, I met him and saw him again, and I cannot unsee it.
He looks like a sunset — beautiful in all its glory, yet he never claimed this beauty to be his. Neither did I hear him talk about himself — of how lovely he is. As if he doesn’t know he is noble, as if he doesn’t see his grandeur.
He looks like the sunrise — inspiring as he arrives, and his face lit the room, yet never did I see him try to steal the praises of his Maker, but he always points eyes to Him.
Ah! Humility is so beautiful! If there’s any kind of beauty I would strive to possess, I want it to be this — the beauty that isn’t loud yet bold, unassuming yet secure, striving yet contented, and simple yet noble. If all will only see the beauty that I see today, they will look at Pride as ugly and gross! If only all will realize how beautiful humility is, all will strive to be like him.
My Lord is always right when He said,
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” - John 3:30
Because the more humble we become, the less of ourselves are seen, and the less ourselves are seen, the more Christ is seen in us, and the more Christ is seen in us, the more beautiful we become!

“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.” - Proverbs 22:4

A good — faithful, loving, providing, understanding, supportive, mature, diligent, honest, striving, praying (plus he was neat) — husband still exists. But he must be hard to find because man like him is a treasure you cannot just pick anywhere, he must be hand-picked for you by GOD. You cannot give him to yourself, he is a gift from GOD.

Imagine praying for a man and now you have him, but GOD gave you more than what you’ve prayed for. Go back to that time when you’re still praying and you will realize what a blessing it is to have him now: this man you never thought to exist, and this kind of love that you never thought was possible.

A good husband is a gift from GOD. He may not be perfect but He is GOD’s best for you. He may not have it all, but GOD knows, He will strive to give you his all.

Keep him no matter what, simply because He is GOD’s precious gift to you.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” - James 1:17

One day you’ll look back and see, GOD closes doors you would not to open wider gates you could not.
What you see as a painful denial before was but a detour to grander heights.
