Excessive Rainfall Outlook
[for June 8 to 12, 2025]

For the upcoming week, there could be a high probability of excessive rains over Western sections of Luzon and parts of Palawan due to the and weather disturbances we are expecting.

Widespread flooding, flashflood, and landslides may occur over Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro Occ, and Northern Palawan. Residents in these area should closely monitor the weather in the next few days.

Other parts of Southern Luzon, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula should also monitor and stay vigilant against possible heavy rain next week which may result to isolated cases of flooding as well.

MeteoZone PH Weather Update!

🚨 CURRENT SITUATION (1:00 PM, June 8th):
We're closely monitoring an active Low Pressure Area (LPA) 92W over the Philippine Sea. This LPA is a big factor, as it's enhancing our Habagat (Southwest Monsoon)! 🌧️

What to expect?

Enhanced Habagat: This means more widespread at times heavy rains, especially over western Luzon, Visayas, and parts of Mindanao. Prepare for possible flash floods and landslides sa susceptible areas.
Luzon: Expect significant rainfall, especially in Western Luzon (like Zambales and Palawan). Metro Manila and CALABARZON, expect moderate to heavy rains, urban flooding is possible.
Visayas: Western Visayas will also experience substantial rains.
Mindanao: Scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms, especially in the northern, Caraga, and Davao regions, due to the trough of the LPA.

What You Need to Know in Western Pacific

JMA is currently tracking 3 Tropical Cyclones.

1. made landfall over Shanghai, China this morning as a Typhoon. Its a small typhoon but was almost centered at China's Economic Hub with millions of people in it

2. has become a Tropical Storm and will almost follow the path of Bebinca days ago. This will affect Okinawa and then China

3. (PAGASA) the most newly formed storm of the 3 cyclones. This is expected to hit Northern Luzon tomorrow. This will eventually head towas Southern China and Vietnam.

2️⃣SOUTHWEST MONSOON ( ) ENHANCED BY TROPICAL DEPRESSION , AFFECTING , , , , , , AND PARTS OF .

🗣️DISCUSSION:
Tropical Depression , currently with sustained winds of 55 km/h and gusts up to 70 km/h, is expected to intensify into a tropical storm before making landfall in the Isabela region of Quezon later this week. Signal #2 winds are anticipated in the area, potentially causing moderate to significant damage. The enhanced southwest monsoon ( ) is further complicating conditions, bringing heavy rains across the country.
⚠️Flooding and landslides remain concerns in , , , , , and parts of as monsoon rains persist. Tropical Storm is also expected to enter later this week, likely adding to the country's already complex weather situation.

🔴 Weather Update: High Rainfall Expected Over the Next Few Days

⛈️Forecast models predict significant rainfall accumulation over the next 2 and 4 days. Areas in Southern , including -an, , , , and , and parts of are expected to experience heavy downpours until Tuesday or Wednesday.

While a break in the monsoon is expected later next week, two new Low-Pressure Areas ( ) — one east of , , and another outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility ( ) — may extend this 'Parade of Storms'.

Currently, Tropical Storm Ferdie has maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts reaching up to 105 km/h. The Minimum Central Pressure of the storm is 1000 hPa.

🗣️DISCUSSION:
Tropical Storm , previously known as , entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility ( ) at 6:00 PM today. Although it is still far from the Philippine landmass, it continues to influence the Southwest Monsoon ( ), bringing overcast skies and rainfall across the country.
⛈️ According to forecast models, this storm is expected to exit PAR by early Saturday morning, but it will still bring heavy rains to , , , and other parts of the . These conditions may lead to flash floods and landslides in affected areas.
⚠️ In the coming hours, heavy rainfall is expected, which could result in severe flooding; therefore, residents in affected regions are advised to exercise caution.

🗣️DISCUSSION:
Severe Tropical Storm (formerly ) has just entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility ( ) and re-intensified with sustained winds of 100 km/h and gusts up to 120 km/h. While remains far from the Philippine landmass, its enhancement of the southwest monsoon is causing significant impacts on the ground.
🌧️Reports of flooding and landslides have been confirmed in , , and surrounding areas. The continuous heavy rains from the enhanced are causing rising water levels and unstable mountain slopes in these regions.
