One day, I won’t be cutting grapes in half.
I won’t be wiping spaghetti from chubby cheeks or stepping over sippy cups and mismatched shoes in the hallway.

One day, I won’t have to remind anyone to chew slowly or clean up spilled milk for the third time before noon.

The high chair will be gone. The bibs will be packed away. The tiny forks and plastic bowls will sit untouched in the back of a cupboard I no longer open.

One day, the chaos will settle. The noise will quiet. The messes will fade.
And I know I’ll miss it.

Because today, I get to witness the mess of growing up.
I get to hold the sticky hands, kiss the sauce-streaked cheeks, and sit beside a little person who still needs me for everything.

Today, I get to be the comfort, the cleaner, the safe place.
And even though it’s exhausting, it’s also the most beautiful thing I’ve ever been trusted with.

One day, they’ll do it all on their own.
But today…
They still need me.

And I’m learning to love even the messiest moments because they won’t last forever.
