Alex Eala defeated World No. 71 Alycia Parks, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, to book her place in the Round of 32 at the National Bank Open.

The Filipina star came out firing, dominating the opening set with her aggressive baseline game. Parks responded with a gritty performance in the second set, edging Eala 6-4 to force a decider.

The third set was a fierce battle, with both players trading blows and staying level at 2-2. Eala then raised her level when it mattered most, reeling off four consecutive games to seal the match in style.
