The Cornerstone, the official publication newsletter and newspaper of Cavite State University Bacoor City Campus was founded in January 2017. Campus Journalism course has encouraged the students to have an in-depth knowledge and useful application of all the forms of journalistic writing. The cornerstone is defined as a stone that forms a part of a corner in the outside wall of a building and that often shows the date when the building was built (Merriam-Webster, 1828). โ€œThe Cornerstoneโ€ was chosen by the CvSU Bacoor Publication to symbolize as the foundation, which is strongly built on the truth. It shall serve as the protector of the freedom of the press to promote responsible and free journalism. Our oath is to strengthen ethical values and shape the moral character of the student body. Through delivering the truth, we can raise the awareness of every student, thus the fruitful enhancement of the critical and creative thinking skills. The official campus publication intends to publish news to inform the school body, to recognize the achievements and progress of the school community, and to better the interschool relationship. The awareness, which this publication will bring, encourages school cooperation and support by stimulating worthwhile activities for the students.

On September 18, 2026, The Central Student Government of Cavite State University-Bacoor City Campus convened its program, Re-Lapis: Ikalawang Tasa at Soldiers Hills IV Elementary School (SHIVES), wherein they extended their support to Grade 1 pupils through a donation initiative by distributing learning essential for their early education.

Initially, the program started last March through a donation drive at Cavite State University-Bacoor City Campus, where used pencils were collected through the initiative of the students. The program was coordinated with Dr. Maribel G. Advincula, Principal III and was formally approved, allowing the initiative to reach its intended beneficiaries.

Through the program, the beneficiaries received pencils, sharpener, eraser, and tracing pad to assist them in their writing and learning activities.

Yesterday, September 15, 2026, The Central Student Government convened its General Assembly at Cavite State University Bacoor City Campus, New bldg. 5th floor.

The event brought together student leaders as the speakers tackled meaningful discussion such as the constitution and by-laws, overview of the central student government, and reminders on the responsibilities entrusted to them.

Among the student leaders were Mr. Edmund C. Martinez, CSG Co-Adviser, who left a meaningful message appreciating them for stepping out their comfort zone. In a moment of appreciation, he also made them tap their own back reminding them they are appreciated, that despite the demand of their own lives, they chose to lead, to serve, and to step up.

Also in attendance were Mrs. Steffanie M. Bato, Head, OSAS, Ms. Marialyn Head, SDS, and Mr. Julios Mojas, SWS, Head, who also shared an inspirational message.

Amid the discussions, they also made a room for entertainment, featuring the student leaders' talent and humor, filling the room with joy and laughterโ€”reminding them that along with serving student should be a lighter atmosphere.

On August 25, 2026, Day 1 Frosh Orientation took place at the CVSU Gymnasium. The event officially marks the new beginning-โ€“filled with new faces and new experiences. Our froshies took their first step towards becoming a part of CVSU by learning about the academic rules and regulations of the university, and the people behind the CVSU Bacoor community. After a morning filled with learning, our froshies got to enjoy exciting performances, booths, and activities prepared by different societies and organizationsโ€”giving them a chance to have fun, make new friends, and join communities.

As you begin this new chapter, we wish you the best of luck in all the challenges, opportunities, and experiences that await you in the university. May your journey be filled with growth and unforgettable memories. Good luck, froshies!

A writer does more than put words togetherโ€”they decide which details deserve to be remembered. Thank you for sharing your ideas, perspective, and creativity through your work as a Section Writer. Every piece you contribute becomes another part of the voice and identity of The Cornerstone.

Today, leave the deadlines and drafts for another day and enjoy a story of your own. May your birthday bring you fresh inspiration, wonderful memories, and many reasons to keep writing your best stories. Wishing you a happy and meaningful birthday! ๐ŸŽ‚
