NEWS | Maypajo High Honors Educators in Colorful and Inspiring Teachers’ Day Celebration
October 3, 2025 - Maypajo High School came alive with gratitude, talent, and festivity as the entire community gathered to celebrate World Teachers’ Day with a meaningful program dedicated to honoring the teachers, hosted and organized by the Supreme Secondary Learners Government headed by their adviser, Mrs. Teresita Mauleon. The celebration began with the solemn entrance of colors followed by the proud march of the faculty members, led by their respective grade level chairpersons, GPTA Officers, our beloved Assistant School Principal Dr. Marlon M. Venzon and School Principal Mr. Raymundo P. Sandagon.
Warm greetings were extended by Sir Sandagon, who officially commenced the celebration with his inspiring opening remarks. One of the highlights of the program was when the entire school took a special moment to honor and surprise our beloved principal, Mr. Raymundo P. Sandagon with a birthday greeting.
Likewise, the winners of the different contests during the Teachers’ Month celebration were also awarded. During the contests, each class showcased their creativity and teamwork through colorful and thoughtful designs that paid tribute to the dedication of teachers.
The celebration was further enriched with a special message from Mr. Jeffery Manalastas, President of TAHMMS, who expressed his admiration and gratitude for the teachers’ hard work and sacrifices. Excitement filled the venue as the TAHMMS officers organized a raffle draw exclusively for teachers, spreading joy as lucky winners received their prizes.
Adding more color to the occasion, the school’s very own Musikawayan, guided by Sir Kenneth Paul Lanuza, performed an intermission number that showcased both talent and cultural artistry. The atmosphere grew livelier with interactive games hosted by Ms. Kaye Anne B. Montes, President of the ESP Club, alongside the SSLG Officers. Teachers eagerly participated, and in the end, Mrs. Araceli Alcaras of Grade 7 emerged victorious.
The celebration continued with the highly anticipated Magpasikat 2025: Teachers’ Edition, where selected teachers from each grade level showcased their hidden talents. Ma’am Gretchen A. Merico of Grade 7 and Ma’am Ma. Krisha Ana R. Bragais of Grade 8 serenaded the audience with heartfelt songs. Sir Ronnel Halos of Grade 9 delivered an inspiring spoken poetry piece, while Ma’am Diana C. Dela Cruz of Grade 10 impressed with her powerful vocals. Sir John Lerry Surrel of Grade 11 and Ma’am Christine Marie Virginie Cruz of Grade 12 also gave stunning singing performances, and the Alternative Learning System representative, Sir Geronimo Tolibas Jr., captivated the crowd with his dynamic dance number.
To add to the excitement, SPTA President Mrs. Janna Marie Frias gave a surprise on-the-spot performance, followed by a moving rendition of Alapaap under the guidance of Sir Jeffery Manalastas, which deeply resonated with the audience. The program also recognized outstanding educators through the Best Teacher Awards, given to Ma’am Ma. Lourdes Sarabia (Grade 7), Ma’am Maolen Torres (Grade 8), Ma’am Marlyn Patriarca (Grade 9), Ma’am Leony Suñer (Grade 10), Ma’am Eloisa Eclarinal (Grade 11), and Ma’am Angelita Nofies (Grade 12).
As the talent showdown drew to a close, the winners of Magpasikat 2025 were announced. Sir Ronnel Halos of Grade 9 secured third place, Ma’am Diana C. Dela Cruz of Grade 10 claimed second place, and Sir Geronimo Tolibas Jr. of ALS emerged as the champion, earning loud cheers from the crowd.
The program concluded with a heartfelt speech from the SPTA President Mrs. Janna Marie Frias, who emphasized the value of unity, camaraderie, and appreciation for teachers as mentors and inspirations. Truly, the Teachers’ Day celebration at Maypajo High School was more than just a program. It was a meaningful expression of gratitude, love, and respect for the educators who continue to inspire and shape the future of their students.
