"De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde veteran Mycah Go has a lot on her plate right now.

On June 8, the NCAA Season 97 MVP will have to juggle her events as she will play with Benilde in the NCAA finals at 2:30 p.m. in San Juan, then go straight to the PVL Draft in Quezon City.

'Hindi pa ako tapos sa Benilde so priority ko pa rin ang Benilde and katawan ko,' Go said last Sunday after a hectic week of activities for her. 'Unahin ko muna ang NC, mas gusto ko pa rin na maganda ang tapos ko [rito].'"

Fueled by their shared goal to revolutionize the leather industry through sustainable and bio-based materials, a group of design innovators teamed up to transform algae and banana waste into a nature-forward alternative.

The startup, named Konstratá, was founded by Risqué Designs CEO and Benilde Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) educator Tal de Guzman, Benilde FDM graduate and Love, Amor Studios Creative Director Micca Amor, and Philip-Anaban CEO Vinz Mamalateo.

Konstratá means with layers. And their tagline—“Fibers Don’t Hide”—echoes their elevated advocacy to promote natural and bio-based layered substitutes to animal hide.

What's new in Benilde?

Benilde Center for Campus Art (CCA) will hold "Echoes and Impressions", a free public lecture that will study how different sources of information and evidence provide diverse interpretations on the history of Philippine art. It will be facilitated by visual artist, writer, and cultural heritage worker Carla Gamalinda and Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Center Director Mayumi Hirano on Wednesday, June 11, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the 8th Floor Learning Commons of the Benilde Design + Arts Campus. Those interested may register through bit.ly/CCA_EchoesandImpressions.

Benilde invites designers, artists, engineers, architects, technologists, storytellers, and radical dreamers from all over the Philippines to the second edition of Benilde Open Design and Art. Themed "Extension of Nature”, it challenges creatives to imagine a world where art and technology work in harmony with the environment—not against it. Selected participants will each receive up to P300,000 in production grants to bring their concepts to life.
Running alongside this is Best of Benilde, a special category open exclusively to Benilde students. Five standout proposals will each receive a P50,000 grant. This landmark showcase presents a sweeping overview of Philippine printmaking, tracing its evolution from the 1950s to the present. With over 200 prints on display, it serves as both a historical retrospective and a testament to the resilience of the medium.

Transforming an entire hallway into an art space, 'Perspectives in Philippine Printmaking' is a bold and immersive experience. The vision was brought to life by Dindin Araneta, Center for Campus Art director and a key figure in Art Fair Philippines, who collaborated with collectors and institutions to curate an extensive collection.

Contributions from the Pura Kalaw Ledesma Collection, Fundacion Sansó, Talyer 15, and student artists from the Benilde Fine Arts in Culture-Based Arts Program ensure that the exhibit represents both established masters and emerging talents."
