Danielle, GB19 N 56167 - Ross Olive
1st East Section 1st BICC National Barcelona 2025
Distance: 1127.52 km
Velocity: 719.92 m/min

Danielle (GB19 N56167) is a remarkable racing pigeon owned by Ross Olive of Wickford, who won 1st Open BICC National Barcelona 2025, flying an incredible 700 miles to claim victory.

Here’s what makes her story so compelling:

Bred in 2019, Danielle was originally raced on the north road with consistent success, including 1st Essex Central Federation and 6th London North Road Combine Thurso from 507 miles in 2023.

In 2024, Ross moved her to the stock loft, but her outstanding condition convinced him to bring her back for the 2025 Barcelona race.

She was sent to Barcelona sitting on 10-day eggs, with minimal preparation—just a couple of inland races and a tough flight from St Philbert where she was 13.5 hours on the wing.

Ross named her Danielle after his wife, adding a personal touch to this champion’s legacy.

Tonnie, NL22-8561434 - Jan Hooymans
1st National Barcelona 2025 against 4,515 p. and placed 4th internationally out of 15,598 birds.
Distance: 1160.9 km
Velocity: 962.07 m/min

Here’s what makes Tonnie's special:

Pedigree: She descends from elite bloodlines, including the legendary “Harry,” “Don Michel,” and “Powerboy.” Her lineage combines top performers from marathon and middle-distance races.

Character & Build: Described as compact, silky-feathered, and full of drive, she returned to her nest with determination and grace—traits prized in marathon pigeons.

Tribute: Jan named her “Tonnie” in honor of the late wife of his close friend Cor de Heijde, whose pigeons also feature in her pedigree.

This victory was a dream come true for Jan Hooymans, who has long aspired to win the prestigious Barcelona race. Tonnie’s triumph is not just a personal milestone—it’s a celebration of teamwork, legacy, and passion in the world of pigeon racing.
