If you’re still breastfeeding,
you’re still postpartum.
Your body doesn’t magically return to “normal” just because months or years have passed.
Breastfeeding literally reshapes your brain, making you more sensitive, more alert, more responsive to your baby.
Prolactin, which is the hormone responsible for milk production, stays elevated the entire time you nurse.
That constant demand alone can mean exhaustion, emotional swings, and mental fog.
Estrogen and progesterone remain lower.
Which affects your mood.
Your energy.
Your sense of self.
So if you feel tired…
not quite like the person you were before…
You’re not failing.
You’re not broken.
And you’re definitely not crazy.
This is still postpartum.
Just a quieter version no one talks about.
