Be always ready to serve the Lord in whatever you do, whenever. We may defer goals, dreams or work at every corner, finding it much easier to procrastinate, for 'tomorrow is another day', as the expression goes. Yet, this 'tomorrow' is often indefinite, and simply a way to ignore our responsibilities. But in the matter of serving God's will and command, there cannot be any deferment.

Jesus tells the disciples God already knows what they need for survival as they begin their journey and would continue to provide for them every step of the way. They did not worry about clothing, shelter, food, or water because these necessities were always available. God placed people along their path to provide for their physical needs and give them a place to rest. God places people in our lives at just the right moment to meet our spiritual needs. When we face challenging battles, He comforts us by providing spiritual friends to lean on.

Never forget that the message of the Lord is one of peace. So that spreading its word involves no malice. Never forget that the message of the Lord is one of goodwill, so its consequences should never lead to hatred or hurt.

Regret can consume us when we realize we've made a terrible mistake. Often, the outcome is irreversible, and there is no way to fix the problem. We say hurtful things to our children or make poor life choices. We destroy our financial status or damage our marriage. In these instances, we must ask forgiveness and move forward. We cannot move back or to the side, we can only move forward. God knows our mistakes before we make them and His plan for our lives consists of peace and happiness. We know He will lead us onward and work all things out for good.

The start of this passage delineates a distinct time, as a time agreed and fixed upon between God and his Son from their Kingdom of eternity, in a council and covenant of peace. This reveals to us that there are progressive periods carefully calculated within God's plan for us, divided into periods and which ultimately culminates in the life, death and the resurrection of Christ. The final culmination was divined by his disciples, as our Judgment Day. If Christ appeared before us back then, would you have recognized his grace, or would you have fallen in line with unbelievers unwilling to repent? When the time of Judgment arrives, will you have been ready? For when the fullness of time has come, and our days are ending, will you be amongst the saved? An often touted phrase is 'live everyday is your last', but perhaps, for the lambs of the Lord, it would be better to render It 'live everyday as if the Judgment has arrived. '

We are too comfortable with our Christian lifestyle as we schedule time for church and Bible Study. Our calendar is precise, leaving no room for interruption. The priest and Levite passed by the injured man and didn't stop to help. They may have thought he was already dead or did not want to get involved; perhaps, they were too busy. Sometimes we are too busy! We have our day planned to the minute and 'schedule' time with God at church or other settings. We must remember, God calls us to minister to the wounded first. Earthly business can wait when the Lord calls us to meet with someone in need.

Peace, sadly, seems almost remote in our modern times. Whilst some may have done abhorrent things in the name of our Lord, it serves us well to be reminded that the Christian faith, as quoted above, is one of peace and goodwill. The body is one in which the Lord our Father sits at the head, but is also comprised of many members, including his only begotten son, the Holy Spirit, the Angels, Apostles and Saints. For the body to function, it requires harmony between all parts, as a peace emanating from God and culminating within us.

It's become evident that today's level of consumption and materialism are things which are unsustainable not only in preserving the gifts God has endowed to us on Earth, but in matters of the soul. The 'love of the world' mentioned in the passage is not a love and respect for God himself and his creation, but rather its opposite, that of a superficial love sanctioned only by a fear of departing with worldly pleasures. In today's society, it is much easier to sink away from God in distraction, into things that grant but the most fleeting sensations. As Jesus remarked many times, we may see that Love of the Lord is the only true route to salvation, that the true measure of man is not what he may accumulate or have, his pride or possessions, but what he may be able to do without.

God takes it personally when we disrespect people. We treat others as we treat ourselves because we will hurt God when we hurt those around us. We become frustrated when waiting in long lines to check out at the grocery store or be seated at a restaurant table. Instead of taking our frustration out on strangers, we must take a moment to analyze the situation. We can show God's love to an employee who's had a difficult day by treating them with kindness and respect rather than impatience or anger.

God accomplishes miracles through the work of a few people! When we see needs within our church or community, we come together to start new ministries. We begin with a few people and often feel overwhelmed by the task ahead. Let us remember the twelve disciples, only twelve to share the Gospel with nations! They trusted God with the task at hand, and we see their success before us right now! When it looks like we don't have enough help, let us remember how God moved mountains with only twelve disciples. All we must do is trust His plan.

To whom do you pay tribute? Who do you fear? Who do you honor? This passage in Romans talks about the duty of God's ministers. They should pay their dues, tribute, custom, honor, and be fearful of only one: God. Only he can judge the quick and the dead. It is only God that deserves tribute, honor, or fear, and as His ministers, it is our duty.

No one enjoys making mistakes, or worse, having to admit it. We unintentionally think highly of ourselves, especially when attempting to walk the straight and narrow path of righteousness. We make excuses for our actions or blame someone else when we sin. Humility is essential as we come to the Lord for repentance. We must be honest and admit to our wrongdoings, and we do this by understanding we are not perfect.
