IN PHOTOS: UPB Communication students held a watch party for their final outputs in BC 107: Broadcast News at Teatro Amianan on May 22.

The course is a requirement for second-year communication students taking Broadcast Communication (BC) as their major or minor.

With the guidance of BC 107 instructor Marc Teomar Bautista, the second-year students produced TV news feature segments, applying the skills taught in the course for Academic Year 2025–2026.

The Department of Communication faculty, headed by DC Program Chairperson Asst. Professor Christian Ezekiel Fajardo, graced the event. Broadcast Communication professors Mr. Benjamin George Meamo and Mr. Carlo Luayon also gave their feedback on the outputs.

The watch party also marked the launch of Ulat Amianan, the laboratory news magazine program of the Department of Communication, College of Arts and Communication.

Furthermore, the outputs have been posted on Ulat Amianan and are now available for public viewing.

‘Cam-paws’ Life ng mga Pusang Gala

Sa ilang pamantasan sa Baguio City, hindi lamang mga mag-aaral ang pinapapasok. Dahil pati ang mga pusang gala ay may sari-sarili ring p’westo?
Bantay sa mga guard posts, rumoronda sa mga corridors, at maging pagpasok sa klase ay hindi pinalalampas ng ating fur-riends. Kilalanin ang kakaibang com-meow-nity sa ilang unibersidad sa Baguio!

Ayon sa mga kwento ng mga lokal at ng mga dumadayo sa Asin Hot Springs, hindi lamang init ang dala ng tubig mula rito kundi pati na rin ginhawa na nakakapagpatanggal ng pagod at ng mga sakit-sakit sa katawan.

SINCE DAY ONE

Hindi lang ingay sa streets, kundi sining na mapapahinto ka. Sa bawat tugtog, sayaw, at indak sa Session Road at iba pang sulok ng Baguio, buhay ang kultura at malikhaing diwa ng siyudad. Kasama ang
Baguio Street Dance Community (BSDC), si Jayce, at ang Ebony & Ivory,masisilayan ang kuwento ng mga artistang pinipiling iparinig atipakita ang kanilang talento sa sariling entablado.

Hindi lang ito simpleng busking. Ito’y kwento ng tiyaga, sakripisyo, at pagmamahal sa pagtanghal na piniling manatili “since day one.”

Café na PWDeng-Pwede

Sa kalawakan ng Burnham Park, talamak ang mga café na nag-aalok ng tambayan at pahinga. Ngunit sa dami nito, may isang pambihirang café na hindi lamang hitsura ang ibubuga. Bukod kasi sa masasarap nilang mga paninda, ang katangi-tanging bumubuhay sa café na ito ay mga PWD na masigasig na nagpapatakbo rito. Sa bawat inuming inihahain at pagkaing iniaalok, tampok ang husay at dedikasyon nila sa kanilang ginagawa. Kaya higit pa sa simpleng café, nagsisilbi itong espasyong nagbibigay ng oportunidad at bagong pagtingin sa kakayahan ng mga PWD.
