Why I Love Europe: A Life in Bloom

There’s something quietly enchanting about Europe—not just in its cathedrals or cobbled streets, but in the way flowers are woven into the rhythm of everyday life. It’s not uncommon to see balconies draped in geraniums, market stalls overflowing with fresh-cut tulips, or an old woman walking home with a single rose tucked in her shopping bag. Here, flowers aren’t reserved for special occasions. They are the occasion.

In the early morning, florists open their shops like bakeries. Buckets of lavender, sunflowers, and peonies spill onto the sidewalks, perfuming the air for passersby. People pause—not to scroll or rush—but to admire, to select, to carry home beauty in their arms. A simple bouquet becomes a silent gesture of appreciation—for a friend, a lover, or maybe just for themselves.

In Europe, flowers are not an extravagance; they’re a ritual. A quiet rebellion against gray skies and busy lives. They sit proudly on café tables, peek through open windows, and mark every celebration, farewell, and homecoming. They are a daily reminder that beauty matters. That life, however routine, can still bloom.

And that’s one of the reasons I love Europe. Because flowers aren’t just decoration here—they’re part of the soul.

Are ducks mentioned in the Bible? Not exactly but their quiet beauty still speaks of God’s wisdom. The way they glide across the water, unbothered and full of trust, reminds me of the peace we’re promised when we let go and let God lead. Even without words, creation worships the Creator.
