Reflection from a post I came across with.
Love Isn’t Always Enough, And That’s Okay
This hits so close to home, doesn’t it? How many times have we held on, thinking if we just love hard enough,
it will be enough,
only to realize love alone can’t bridge two worlds that were never meant to meet.
I’ve felt this deeply, loving someone with my whole heart,
seeing how beautiful and good they are, yet standing face-to-face with realities I can’t change.
It’s not that the love wasn’t real.
It wasn’t that either of us was wrong. It’s simply that one was made for the sky,
and the other for the sea,
and neither can survive in the other’s world.
Asking either to leave their element isn’t love;
it’s asking them to stop being who they are.
And real love wants the other to breathe,
even if that means letting them go.
This truth brings both pain and peace: Love doesn’t erase incompatibility.
Some people come not to stay forever, but to wake something in us,
to teach us how deeply we can love,
how much our hearts are capable of feeling,
and to leave us changed,
even if it hurts.
Their love wasn’t a failure because it ended; it was a gift because it happened.
Not every beautiful connection is meant to be a forever one,
some are here to guide us,
to shape us,
and then to gently let us find our own way home.
And that’s the hardest, kindest truth to carry:
Love is real,
but it is not always enough.
And that doesn’t make it any less precious. 🤍
“Some stories aren’t beautiful because they lasted forever.
They’re beautiful because they happened at all.”
