⨠The New Filipino āØ
A wake-up call. A love letter. A quiet revolution.
Lately, Iāve been noticing something⦠a shift.
In the airport? So far, check.
In bus stations? So far, check.
In PRC? So far, check.
For the first time in a long time, Iāve been experiencing service that is simple, decent, honestā
no āunder the table,ā
no whispered āpang-kape naman dāyan,ā
no forced gratitude tipsā¦
Just Filipinos doing their jobs with dignity, helping because it is the right thing to do.
And you know what?
It moved me.
Because maybe⦠just maybeā¦
the culture is shifting.
A quiet evolution is happening in the hearts of everyday workersā
the guard at the gate,
the clerk behind the window,
the staff assisting travelers,
the ordinary people who choose integrity even when no one is watching.
If only this same spirit could ripple through the whole systemā¦
through every office, every agency, every level of leadership.
The small peopleāthe ordinary Filipinoā
we are tired.
Tired of corruption eating away at our hope.
Tired of watching our nation, once called an Asian giant, slowly weaken under the weight of graft.
But today, I also feel something else:
Possibility.
If the change can start in small counters and simple transactions,
why canāt it reach higher?
Why canāt it touch the places where it is needed the most?
Maybe this is the beginning of the New Filipinoā
one who serves without expecting anything in return,
one who helps without exploitation,
one who carries integrity like a badge,
one who believes that dignity is part of the job.
To everyone making honest work the new norm:
Thank you. You are the seed of the Philippines we dream of.
And to the rest of usā
Itās time.
Time to demand better.
Time to be better.
Time to wake up.
The change we long forā¦
might already be starting with us.
