To every Lolo and Lola, thank you for the quiet love you give, the stories you share, and the prayers you whisper for your family.

We may not say it often enough, but your presence means more than you know. Our families are stronger because of you, and we are deeply grateful for every moment we still get to share with you.

If your grandparents are still with you, don’t wait for another special occasion. Sit beside them. Listen to their stories, even the ones you have heard before. Hold their hands, be patient with them, and tell them you love them while they can still hear it. Respect is not only spoken it is shown through our time, presence, and care.

If they are no longer with you, remember them with gratitude. Honor their lives by carrying forward the love, wisdom, and faith they left behind.

God intended faith to be shared from one generation to the next:

“One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.” Psalm 145:4 KJV

This Grandparents’ Day, let us celebrate them, cherish them, and thank God for the blessing of every Lolo and Lola. ❤️

What should we do when God exposes our SIN?

It’s not about hiding it better, it’s about handing it over. Real healing begins where pretending ends.

Salvation is God’s gift, received by grace through faith in Christ—the One who died for our sins and rose again. Turn from sin and trust Him as your Lord and Savior.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31

At least I’m not as bad as them.

Maybe you saw someone lie, cheat, betray their family, or make choices you would never make, and for a moment you felt a little better about yourself. I have my faults, but I would never do that.

It sounds reasonable. After all, some people really do commit worse sins and cause greater harm than others. But there’s a problem.

God never said the person beside us was the standard.

Imagine two people trying to reach the top of a mountain. One climbs higher than the other, but neither reaches the summit. Would it make sense for the one who climbed farther to say, “I made it because I’m higher than him”? No. And that's what comparison can quietly do to us spiritually.

We look sideways instead of looking at God's standard. The Pharisee in Jesus' parable did exactly that. He stood before God and prayed: “God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are...” (Luke 18:11) Then he started listing the kinds of people he was better than.

But nearby stood a tax collector who wouldn't even lift his eyes toward heaven. He simply cried, “God be merciful to me a sinner.” (Luke 18:13)

And here's the part that should make us stop.

Jesus said the tax collector went home justified. The Pharisee did not.
The Pharisee compared himself with worse people and looked righteous.
The tax collector saw himself before a holy God and asked for mercy.

That's the difference.

Romans 3:23 doesn't say only the worst among us have sinned. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

And the very next verse gives us the hope:

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:23–24

Comparison might convince us we're better than someone else. It can never make us righteous before God.

That's why the Gospel isn't “be better than bad people.” It's that sinners who cannot justify themselves can be justified freely by God's grace through Jesus Christ.

So here's a question worth answering honestly:

Have you ever caught yourself feeling more righteous because someone else's sin looked worse than yours?

Maybe no one needs to convince you that you’re a sinner. You already know the things you’ve done, the guilt you carry, and the parts of your life you try to hide.

But what are you supposed to do with that guilt? Hide it? Try to become a better person? Or assume you have already gone too far?

Peter was an ordinary fisherman who met Jesus. One day, after Peter had spent the whole night fishing without catching anything, Jesus told him to try again. Suddenly, the nets became so full of fish that they began to break.

Peter realized that Jesus was no ordinary man. Standing before His power and goodness made Peter painfully aware of his own sin. He fell before Jesus and said:

“Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” — Luke 5:8 (KJV)

But Jesus did not walk away.

He told Peter, “Fear not,” and invited him to follow. Jesus knew exactly who Peter was, yet He still called him closer.

This is why Jesus came. He already knows the truth about our sin, yet He willingly died in our place and rose again so we could be forgiven, changed, and brought near to God.

Admitting that you are a sinner is not weakness. It is the moment you stop hiding and recognize your need for a Savior.

And if you are wondering whether Jesus would still receive someone like you, remember Peter: the man who asked Jesus to leave was the very man Jesus invited to follow.
