Greetings of peace and solidarity!

In the spirit of Christian compassion and unity, we appeal for your generous support for Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union - one of our CICM sister schools severely affected by Typhoon Emong. The disaster caused extensive damage to its facilities (destroyed roofs, walls, windows and other structural components of buildings and classrooms), impacting operations and the school community.

To aid in their recovery, we are launching a voluntary cash donation drive from August 1 to 8, coordinated through the Office of the Vice President for Mission &; Identity. Cash donations are preferred to meet urgent needs efficiently and support local rebuilding efforts.

In the spirit of ‘Binnadang’ and in fidelity to our missionary identity, may we respond with generous hearts to this call for solidarity. As one Louisian family, let us be living witnesses of Christ’s compassion—reaching out to our brothers and sisters in St. Louis College of San Fernando with hope, mercy, and love in action. May our shared mission inspire us to serve beyond ourselves, especially in moments of great need.

For the past four years, you’ve led CCMV not just with vision, but with genuine love for every member of this fruitful community. Your steady faith, compassion, and commitment have brought people together and strengthened our mission as CICM Campus Mission Volunteers.

Thank you for being more than just a leader. You’ve been a mentor, a brother, and an inspiration to all of us. As we celebrate your leadership, we also celebrate the countless lives you’ve touched and the example you’ve set for what it means to serve with a servant’s heart.

We are deeply grateful for everything you’ve poured into CCMV, and we look forward to carrying forward the legacy of faith and fellowship you’ve built.

𝗝𝗨𝗟𝗬 𝟯𝟭 | 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧. 𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗨𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗢𝗟𝗔

Today marks the memorial of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus or the Jesuits. Born in 1491 in Northern Spain, he was the youngest among 13 children.

His life was of nobility as he was a nobleman and a soldier filled with honor and glory. However, after a serious injury in battle, he underwent a profound spiritual conversion upon reading the life of Christ and the saints. Thus, redirecting his ambition from worldly conquest to spiritual service. He late founded the Jesuit Order, grounded in discipline, education, and education work.

St. Ignatius' life is a powerful testament to how pain and failure can lead to purpose. His journey reminds us that true greatness is not found in fame or fortune, but in surrendering to a higher calling and serving others with deep conviction.

For seven meaningful years, Mrs. Triceayn Marie D. Prestousa has been more than just an adviser to Sampuso, she became the constant light in our journey. Through every challenge and triumph, she gave not only her guidance, but her heart, her time, and her steadfast belief in what Sampuso could become.

In grateful recognition of your outstanding service, unwavering support, and invaluable guidance, we extend our deepest thanks. Your wisdom, compassion, and tireless dedication have shaped not just our organization, but each of us as individuals.

As this chapter closes, we carry with us the lessons you’ve sown, and the love you so generously shared.

Today, we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, a title for the Blessed Virgin Mary, revered by the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel and the Order of the Discalced Carmelites.

The popular devotion to the title of Mary started when Mary had given the Scapular to the Carmelite priest and now saint, Simon Stock.

The scapular would then be a external sign of the filial relationship of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the faithful who intercede for her for protection and the need for prayer.

In the heart of the highlands, we are more than mountains and rivers. We are a people bound by shared dreams and enduring spirit.

This Cordillera Day, we honor our roots, our struggles, and our unwavering call for autonomy. We walk also as "Pilgrims of Hope", guided not only by our ancestors' courage but also by the dreams of the generations to come.

We stand together, forging a future where our identity is preserved, our voices are heard, and our unity shapes the legacy we leave behind. We move forward not as separate communities, but as one Cordillera—resilient, proud, and united.

𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲: 𝗙𝗿. 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟰𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆

During the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, parishioners at SLU Saint Aloysius Gonzaga Church celebrated Mass with Rev. Fr. Emery Mwako Ebumea, CICM, also marking his birthday with warm greetings.

Fr. Ebumea's homily focused on "Common Sense" rooted in love. He began by sharing a personal experience from April: witnessing a car hit a young woman near Burnham Park. While he and the driver helped, many onlookers simply took photos. This led him to question society's compassion. Drawing on René Descartes' idea that "common sense is the best distributed thing in the world," Fr. Ebumea urged, cultivating mindfulness and mercy—a common sense built on love—rather than strict adherence to rules.

Connecting to the day's readings, he highlighted Jesus' summary of God's law into love of God and love of neighbor, emphasizing its universal nature as embodied by the cross. He then used the Good Samaritan parable to illustrate that every person deserves compassion, regardless of background. Fr. Ebumea challenged parishioners to actively help those in need, whether directly or through charities.

He concluded by asking, "If we fail to love our neighbor, how can we sincerely love God, whom we do not see?" underscoring that love is the true measure of faith in daily life.
