I hope the people earning their livelhood in the boating get renumerated by the government while Burnham Lake is temporary closed. 😰

Temporary Closure of Burnham Lake Starting October 1

Burnham Lake in Baguio City will be temporarily closed starting October 1, 2025, until further notice. This closure is part of ongoing rehabilitation and enhancement efforts aimed at restoring the lake’s ecological balance, improving water quality, and ensuring its sustainable management for future generations.

Details of the Closure:
• Effective Date: October 1, 2025
• Reason for Closure: Rehabilitation and Enhancement of Burnham Lake.
• Implementing Agency: Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) in coordination with CITY GOVERNMENT OF BAGUIO through the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO)
• Duration: Until further notice. Updates will be provided on progress and reopening dates.
• Note: No trees will be cut as part of this rehabilitation project.

Impact on Visitors:
• The lake will not be accessible to the public during this period. All boating, fishing, and recreational activities are suspended.
• Access to surrounding areas may also be limited to facilitate work on the rehabilitation project.

For Public Safety:
• Visitors are advised to avoid the lake area during the rehabilitation to ensure their safety and to allow the implementation of necessary work.
• We encourage the community to cooperate with local authorities and respect the closure for the successful completion of the project.
