This was the hardest race I’ve run this year. Somewhere in the middle of those climbs, I was seriously questioning why I ever signed up for this fu***ng sport in the first place. From kilometer 9 onward, I was basically running on autopilot, doubting my training and regretting everything.
But the moment they called out my bib number near the finish, adrenaline kicked in. I locked in, dropped to a 3:45/km pace, and emptied the tank all the way to the ribbon.
Today reminded me that this sport isn’t just about new PRs or perfect splits. It’s enduring the pain, owning it, and letting it shape who you are as an athlete.
I still hate that route. F**k that.
But I’m more in love with this sport than ever. 🧡
Half marathon, I’m coming for your ass. 👌🏼
