BMI Participates in the 3rd Quarter NSED

At 9 AM on Thursday, September 26, the learners, faculty, and administrative staff of Baguio Multicultural Institute (BMI) actively participated in the third quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), demonstrating their commitment to safety and preparedness.

All offices and schools are urged to participate in the NSED. This announcement follows Office of the Undersecretary for Operations (OUOPS) Memorandum No. 2024-04-01277, which reiterates the schedule for the CY 2024 quarterly drills, and OUOPS Memorandum No. 2024-04-07009, which reschedules the NSED. Additionally, it is in line with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 189, s.2024, which confirms the rescheduling of the Third Quarter NSED for CY 2024.

This successful earthquake drill facilitated by Miss Annie Pahitte, the School Guard; Miss Roxan Aglabtin, the Assistant Security Officer; and Sir Steve Jose Soriano, the Security Commander. The documentation of the drill was led by Mercy R. Dava, the Head of the Intermediate and High School Department, alongside Kimberly Grace L. Lao, the Head of the Student Affairs Office.

"Having an earthquake drill helps us know what to do during an earthquake. This also ensures us not to panic," stated Sophie Ysabel D. Tan from Grade 8. Similarly, Grade 4 student Olivia Shans J. Martin expressed, "It is important to have an earthquake drill so that we will know what to do during an earthquake." These drills not only educate students on safety procedures but also instill calmness during unpredicted events.
