Miyuki Kamimura's The Actor's Body 3rd Edition has been concluded after a 3-day workshop on April 1-3, 2025 at the HARVEST CREATIVE CommUNITY HUB, Botanical Garden, Baguio City.

This is the 3rd year that Miyuki Kamimura has been conducting the workshop intended for newbie and theatre practitioners interested in learning the Asian Intercultural theatre techniques to prepare for theatrical performances. This is introductory Asian Theatre.

Various ages and professions attended the workshop from elementary and SPA high schools to university students to teachers for performing arts, film makers, visual artists and fashion designers.

The activity was organized under Mountain Trail Films, in partnership with Harvest Creative Community Hub and Pasa-Kalye Group of Artists.

Miyuki Kamimura was the titular Tanabata in the film adaptation of Sinai Hamada's Tanabata's Wife in 2018 which earned him the Best Actor award in the ToFarm Film Festival, giving him the recognition as the only foreigner so far to win the top acting plum in a nationally recognized film festival in the Philippines. His fascination of the Cordilleras had brought him back to reconnect, after learning of the long time historical link with the Japanese, way beyond World War 2. In 2023, he paid his respects to Sinai Hamada by being able to visit his grave at the Baguio Cemetery.

Miyuki Kamimura, Tanabata in the film adapation of
Sinai Hamada’s “Tanabata’s Wife”, is back to share his techniques
in preparing the body for a performance.

The workshop is about Connections, from the body
to the physical world, for a unified act as performers.

Miyuki is a theatre practitioner trained in
acting and traditional Asian theatre forms at
the Intercultural Theatre Institute in Singapore.
