Singer-songwriter Davey Langit has passed away due to complications from a rare spinal infection, as confirmed by his wife, Therese Villarante-Langit, on Wednesday, October 22.

In a heartfelt tribute, she shared: “He loved life more than anyone I’ve ever met and fought fiercely 'til the very end.”

Earlier this year, Davey bravely opened up about his diagnosis of spondylodiscitis, a serious and painful infection of the spine.

Davey first captured hearts as a finalist on Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 in 2006. He went on to make his mark with the viral “Selfie Song”, and as the award-winning songwriter behind “Dalawang Letra” (Himig Handog 2016).

A proud member of Baguio City National High School Batch 2004, Davey leaves behind a legacy of music, heart, and passion.

Meta is officially shutting down its stand-alone Messenger desktop apps for Windows and Mac on December 15, 2025.

After that date, you won’t be able to log in to the desktop apps and will be redirected to Facebook.com to use Messenger. 📱💻

🔔 You’ll receive an in-app alert when the deprecation process begins. From there, you'll have 60 days to keep using the Mac app before it’s completely disabled.

💡 What to do now:

Switch to Messenger via Facebook.com

Use the Facebook desktop app (for Windows users)

Turn on secure storage + set up a PIN to preserve your chat history 🔐

How to check secure storage:
Settings ⚙️ > Privacy & Safety > End-to-end Encrypted Chats > Message Storage ✅
