Happy 116th Baguio Charter Day! 🎉

Today, September 1, we honor the birth of our beloved Summer Capital, a city built on rich history, cultural diversity, and the resilience of its people.

Since 1909, Baguio has grown from a small mountain settlement into a vibrant hub of art, education, tourism, and community spirit. Through the years, it has welcomed people from all walks of life, creating a unique blend of traditions and modern living that makes our city truly one of a kind.

As we celebrate this milestone, let us cherish the cool breeze, the pine-scented air, the breathtaking landscapes, and most importantly, the warmth of our community. Here’s to preserving our heritage, nurturing our environment, and building a brighter future for generations to come.

Happy Charter Day, Baguio! 💚🌲

And just like that, it’s Christmas again! ⭐️

Hello September! Every year it feels like Christmas is always getting closer and closer. And this year, some malls have already begun decorating their atrium, escalators and entryways as early as August! I guess the Filipino tradition is just getting cozier and more nostalgic every year.

Happy Holidays, Explorers!🎄

BAGUIO BOTANICAL GARDEN presents

FLORIBENEDICTA: WHERE BLESSINGS BLOOM 🌺

From the Latin flori (flower) and benedicta (blessed), Floribenedicta reminds us that the essence of Christmas is not measured in gifts, but in gratitude. Like blossoms opening to the light, life’s true blessings unfold in love, faith, kindness, and togetherness.

As you walk through the Botanical Garden, each bloom invites reflection—a gentle reminder that our hearts are already full of blessings, waiting to be recognized and shared.

Floribenedicta: Where Blessings Bloom is a collective story of compassion, prayer, and love. Every seed of kindness planted in humanity’s soil blossoms into blessings that extend beyond the season, transforming Christmas into a perennial garden of grace.

Floribenedicta: Where Blessings Bloom opens this November 2025.

Half a Decade, and Just Beginning

Five years of stories, still unfolding.
Since 2020, you’ve walked beside us—through slow days and sunrises, through quiet corners and crowded streets.

To every follower, every friend, every stranger-turned-friend who shared, listened, rooted, or remembered—we felt it. We still do.

This milestone isn’t just ours. It’s a candle lit by many hands, a birthday cake made from memories, grit, and the gentle hope that something small can grow into something shared.

From Baguio to the nation—thank you for exploring with us.
We’re only five, but we’re standing on the shoulders of a community that’s been here all along.

August 8 marks five years of Explore Baguio.
And the story is far from over.

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” — Audrey Hepburn

And since 2020, we’ve planted seeds — of hope, of creativity, of community.
No birthday cake can hold the weight of what you’ve helped us grow.
You are the garden, and we are endlessly grateful.

Here’s to every tomorrow we’ll continue to explore — together. ⭐️

BEYOND 5: The People Behind the City

Editor’s Note

There’s a quiet kind of work that often goes unnoticed—the woman arranging flowers in the cold, the traffic enforcer standing alone in the rain, the vendors who stay long after the crowd has left. When I started Explore Baguio, I didn’t have a blueprint. I just felt the need to document this city honestly—to go beyond the scenic views and tell the stories happening in between. And as the years passed, I kept returning to the same truth: that the beauty of Baguio isn’t just in its places, but in its people. The ones who keep showing up, even without applause. The ones who carry the weight of a city on their shoulders and still offer it with a smile. Five years later, this is the part of the story I hold closest—the steady hands, the silent strength, the everyday lives that built this city long before we arrived with our cameras. This is for them. BEYOND 5 is not just a milestone. It’s a tribute.

Here’s to five years—and everything beyond.
