Be mindful of how you speak to your child — your words become their inner voice.
Never tear them down with criticism that bruises their spirit.
Never speak out of anger in ways that leave scars they’ll carry long after childhood.
Because the things we say in frustration?
They don’t just fade.
They settle in.
That one harsh word, that name you didn’t mean, that sharp tone…
It can echo in their hearts for years.
They may start to believe they are who you say they are in your worst moments.
Correct them — of course.
Discipline matters.
But do it with love, not with labels.
With patience, not punishment.
Remember: they’re still becoming.
Still figuring out the world — and their place in it.
And they’re looking to you for the blueprint of how to treat themselves.
So speak life into them.
Even when you’re tired.
Even when they test your limits.
Build them. Don’t break them.
Speak with love.
Correct with grace.
Parent with intention.
Because children might forget what you bought them…
But they’ll never forget how you made them feel.
