Know what our biggest discussion is right now?
As we head toward our 7th year of marriage, our conversations have shifted. These days, we talk about having children (not in a "we want one tomorrow" kind of way, but we talk about IVF and the like), where we want to settle down, and, our most debated topic, who gets to be the stay-at-home parent.
Recently, I just wanted to be a full-time housewife (I’m doing it currently), but in his defense, he says I'm more effective when I'm working 😂. Meanwhile, he wants to be a house-husband. In my defense, he's actually really good at both.
At this point, I think the solution is that we both work and both stay home somehow.
To be fair, he never pressures me to get a job. But whenever I'm stressed about not having my own funds, I end up nagging him about it. I know that probably adds pressure on him too, especially since he's just starting his career and we're still very much in the paycheck-to-paycheck stage.
We've already graduated from the classic marriage discussions:"You snore.""Can you do the dishes?""Who's cooking?""Did you do the laundry?"
Now we're discussing life plans, finances, future kids, and who gets the privilege of staying home. 😂
