'LAGI MONG TANDAAN, NA ‘HINDI MO PAMILYA ANG PAMILYA NG PARTNER MO.'

Kahit gaano ka nila ka-welcome sa umpisa, iba pa rin ang tunay na pamilya nila. May limitasyon ang care at concern na maibibigay nila sayo. At the end of the day, uuwi pa rin sila sa sarili nilang dugo’t laman.

Minsan iisipin mo na tanggap na tanggap ka na, pero may mga pagkakataon na mararamdaman mong outsider ka pa rin. Hindi dahil masama sila, kundi dahil natural na mas uunahin nila ang kapamilya nila kaysa sayo. Kaya wag kang masyadong masaktan kung hindi mo makuha lahat ng support.

Kailangan mo ring matutunang ihiwalay ang relasyon mo sa partner mo, at ang relasyon mo sa pamilya niya. Hindi lahat ng away ninyo ay kailangan nilang pakialaman. Mas maganda kung kayo mismo ang mag-aayos nang magkasama.

Totoo na blessing kapag supportive ang pamilya ng partner mo. Pero huwag mong gawing basehan ng happiness ang acceptance nila. Ang importante, kayong dalawa ng partner mo ay solid at marunong magtiwala sa isa’t isa.

Sa huli, ang tunay na relasyon ay binubuo niyo lang dalawa. Bonus na lang kung kasama sa journey ang pamilya niya. Pero tandaan, partner mo ang pinili mo, hindi ang pamilya niya.

I’m 1 in 4.
I saw two pink lines.
And then I watched them vanish.

No bump pics.
Just blood, silence, and a pain no one talks about.

I was expected to “move on.”
But how do you move on from someone you never even got to hold?

I mourned a baby I never met.
I grieved a future I had already fallen in love with.
And I did it quietly, because the world doesn’t know how to hold space for loss this small, but this heavy.

But... sometimes after the storm, comes a rainbow.
