Get Ready to Spell It Out: SM Super Spelling Bee is Back for Year 2!

The buzz is back, and it is all about words! The SM Super Spelling Bee is making its much-awaited return this year, inviting young spelling champs from across the country to take the stage, test their skills, and have a whole lot of fun.
After a successful debut last year, this year’s competition brings together 40 participating SM Supermalls nationwide. From classroom word wizards to kids who simply love a good challenge, everyone is welcome to join and experience the thrill of a live spelling showdown.
This year’s edition is extra special as SM Supermalls celebrates its 40th year, a milestone that reflects its continued growth and dedication to creating spaces where families can learn, connect, and enjoy meaningful experiences. 200 Players Join 2-Day Table Tennis Tournament at SM City Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — A total of 200 athletes from NCR and Central Luzon participated in the 2-Day Table Tennis Tournament held at The Event Center, SM City Bataan, on August 23–24, in partnership with Anvil Tennis Club.

The tournament provided a competitive platform for athletes across different categories, drawing large audiences throughout the two-day event.

On Day 1, matches were staged for the Beginners and Under 15 divisions, where 100 young players showcased their growing talent and passion for the sport. The games attracted an estimated 800 spectators, composed of families, friends, and table tennis enthusiasts.

The competition intensified on Day 2 with the Intermediate, Expert, and Pro/National categories. Another 100 players competed at a higher level of play, drawing an audience of around 500 people, who witnessed the athletes’ skill, agility, and determination.

The successful staging of the tournament not only highlighted the depth of talent in the region but also reinforced SM City Bataan’s commitment to supporting sports and community-building activities.

SM City Bataan Empowers Young Changemakers at Global Youth Summit 2025

Balanga City, Philippines – Hundreds of young leaders, innovators, and advocates gathered at SM City Bataan on August 22, 2025 for the Global Youth Summit (GYS) 2025, a nationwide initiative of SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, in partnership with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Philippines.

The event brought together an estimated 300 participants from schools, organizations, and communities across Bataan to engage in inspiring discussions and collaborative activities that advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s program featured Mr. Ranze Calderon - Executive Director Youth Force PH, Kier Aventurado, Program Director for Youth Development Office, Dr. Jayvie Villazor - Assistant Professor BPSU Medical, Ms. Danica Lo**ta Tigas - OIC Provincial Tourism Office, Provincial Government of Bataan and Hon. Antonino Roman, III, Congressman, 1st District of Bataan who shared their experiences and insights on topics such as SGD 4: Quality Education “Youth as Partners in Shaping Inclusive and Quality Education for all”, SDG 3: Good Health & Well-being “Strengthening Mental and Emotional Resilience in the Next Generation” and SGD 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions “The Role of Young People in Building Safe, Peaceful, and Inclusive Communities.”
Participants also enjoyed performances from Teatrong Bayan adding to the celebratory and empowering atmosphere of the event.
