𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗛 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗔𝗦 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦

The bell has rung, signaling the start of a new journey as Balasan National High School officially begins School Year 2025–2026 this Monday, June 16, 2025.

After a two-month summer break, learners once again gathered on the senior high school grounds for the first flag-raising ceremony. The event began with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, played by the Drum and Xylophone Corps, followed by the formal introduction of the school's Assistant Principals, Mrs. Jeanette Balberona and Ms. Concepcion Valenzuela, along with the Department Heads and Grade 7 teachers, introduced by Mr. Lyvi S. Alfin, Principal III.

Mr. Alfin then delivered a motivating speech about self-discipline, emphasizing how cultivating this value can lead to success in the classroom and beyond.

Moreover, Grade 11 learners returned refreshed and donned a new uniform design featuring a navy blue band on the polo, and slacks replacing skirts, bringing a subtle yet elegant update that added vibrant energy to the campus.

This school year marks a fresh start for both returning and new learners of Balasan NHS. They have come back stronger, more motivated, and inspired, ready to navigate new academic terrains and rise to meet new challenges. | 𝘷𝘪𝘢 𝘑𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘪 𝘓𝘦𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘰

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗘𝗦𝗞𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗚𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗨𝗣, 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚

In response to DepEd Memorandum No. 42, s. 2025 entitled 2025 Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines, Balasan NHS also joined the nationwide implementation of Brigada Eskwela that kicked-off this June 9 to prepare and gear-up the school for the opening of school year 2025-2026.

Dated May 9, 2025, the memorandum was issued emphasizing the theme, "Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama para sa Bayang Bumabasa" highlighting a nationwide effort and volunteerism on literacy development.

Among those who joined as volunteers during the Brigada Eskwela were the parents, incoming old and new students, Barangay Officials, representatives from LGU, teachers and many others with the leadership of the school principal, Mr. Lyvi S. Alfin together with the internal stakeholders, assistant school principals, Ms. Concepcion Valenzuela, Mrs. Jeanette Balberona, and all the Department Heads.

Overall, Brigada Eskwela 2025 at Balasan NHS was a successful demonstration of the dedication and cooperation of the entire community. 𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗡 | 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗚𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡, 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗡 : 𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 - 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗢

Labing dalawang dekada at pitong taon na ang nakalipas mula noong idineklara ang kalayaan para sa bansang Pilipinas. Ika-127 na anibersaryo ng kasarinlan, pagbibigay pugay sa katapangan, katatagan, pagmamahal, at kalayaan.

Sa buong kapuluan, iwinagayway ng mga Pilipino ang kanilang mga bandila hindi lang sa pag-alala sa nakaraan, kundi sa pagdiriwang nang patuloy na paglakbay ng mga mamamayan tungo sa pagkakaisa, progreso, at soberanya.

Noong ikalabing dalawa ng Hunyo taong 1898, sa bayan ng Kawit, Cavite — ipinahayag ni Emilio Aguinaldo ang kalayaan ng Pilipinas mula sa pagkakakulong sa pamamalakad ng mga Espanyol. Ang paglayag ng Bandila ng Pilipinas at ang unang pagpapatugtog ng Pambasang Awit ang nag marka sa kasaysayan ng bansa.

Ngayong taong 2025, hindi lamang isang tagumpay ang kalayaan — isa itong pagpapaalala sa katapangan at sakripisyo na ginawa ng ating mga bayani na nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa bansa.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Pilipinas sa araw na ito, ipinahiwatig ng tema ang bagong kahulugan ng "Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan." Ang tatlong haliging ito ay nagpapakita sa diwa ng pagkatao ng mga Pilipino: isang ipinagmamalaking kasaysayan, pagtitiis sa pasakit, at pagbabahagi ng pag-asa para sa mas magandang kinabukasan.

Ang Araw ng Kalayaan ay isang matatag na pagpapaala na ang kalayaan ay hindi isang beses na tagumpay lamang, kundi isang patuloy na pangako. Ito ay isang araw na nagbibigay karangalan sa nakaraan, pagsuri ng kasalukuyan, at pagsikap para sa kinabukasan.

Sa pagsikat ng araw sa ibabaw ng tatlong bituin at nagliliwanag na patag ng asul at p**a, nawa'y bawat pintig ng puso ay umalingawngaw sa katapangan ng bawat kaluluwa ng 1898 — mga kaluluwa na sumubok mangarap, lumaban, at nagmahal sa bansa ng buong puso at katapatan.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗔: 𝗕𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦, 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦 𝗚𝗢 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗦

Balasan National High School students with their skills and talents booked their way to national level as they conquered Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur for the National Schools Press Coference (NSPC), National Festival of Talents (NFOT), and Palarong Pambansa held this May 2025.

Dubbed as BNHS Trifecta of 2025, the following were the BNHS students who ruled Western Visayas that catapulted them in the highest podium and eventually qualify them to three of the biggest national level competitions in the field of journalism, sports and arts. 𝙉𝙁𝙊𝙏 (𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙨𝙞𝙠) - Charlze Roche Artesano, Luke Plasencia, Selcy Nadelle Navarra, Kyle Jesle Tinambunan, Michaell Vince Rodriguez, Eloisa Penuela; 𝙉𝙎𝙋𝘾 (𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙒𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 (𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙮) - 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝) - Arnie Rose Andreo; 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖 (𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 3𝙭3 (𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙮) - 𝘽𝙤𝙮𝙨) - Ken Jeric Vencer, Jerick Baltar, Edgar Marcelo Jr., Franken Stein Delfin.

The national level qualifiers would like to thank these persons who have great contributions in their journey: Hon. Mayor Filomeno Ganzon, Hon. Vice Mayor Manuel Ganzon, SB Members, Mr. Lyvi Alfin, Principal III; ASPs; Mrs. Jeanette Balberona and Ms. Concepcion Valenzuela, Head Teachers, SPTA Officers led by Mrs. Jeanne Tullo; their trainers, coaches and their dedicated parents.

Despite not being able to bring home the medals, competing in the national level, representing the region, the school and the municipality of Balasan is truly an honor and pride.
