“After all these years, I never forgot you. EVER.”
Today’s something special for we’re all in awe of the heartwarming message Steve (the Blues Clues host) had delivered to all of us. It feels so surreal — bringing up the childhood memories, reminiscing all the fun-filled moments with Blues Clues. Hello, Millenials! Relate?
I watched the video several times and it gave me several lessons in real life.
I have learned that in life, there are indeed seasons:
There is a season of arrival — a time where you welcome someone in your life, a time where you allow people enter in your heart with no amount of fear or doubt, with no thoughts of leaving, a season where you have no fear of the future and what lies ahead.
There is also a season of growth — a time where you just enjoy life with some people and also, a time to learn, explore, and grow with them. This is the season where the amount of joy in your heart is uncontainable and that covers the reality.
What is the reality? A reality that people come and go. A reality that not all people whom you have met will stay with you in all seasons of your life. Sometimes they leave with a specific reason, but most of the time, they leave you hanging, and you have no idea after all.
This is the season of departure — this is the time in your life when people will leave you at no specific reason, not because they hate you but because their purpose to be with you has been accomplished. This is the time they have to leave everything behind and start something new.
Just like Steve did. He left us to pursue higher education. He went into college. Sometimes, people leave in pursuit of the things they wanted to do, something they dreamed of.
Yes, at some point it is painful and hurtful for we’re no longer part of that season, of that journey. But sometimes, we need to fully understand that there are seasons in life where we’re meant to grow separately and individually. It’s part of the journey, part of the season of life.
But regardless of these seasons, you know what’s the good side after all? We may be apart from the people who accompanied us before, yet we still learn to value them for one thing we know, at a particular season of our lives, they’re the ones who stood by our side, the one whom we enjoyed life with, the one who never gave up on us.
Still, just like Steve stated these words after how many years, we can bravely say these words too, “After all these years, I never forgot you. EVER.” I still thank you for the memories and ALL!
