IN PHOTOS | Energy and school pride ignited at the Teodosio Cultural and Sports Complex as Aklan State University – Banga Campus officially opened Paindis-Indis 2025 today, October 23, 2025.

The opening ceremony marked the beginning of a week-long celebration of sportsmanship, culture, and unity among the university’s departments.

The program also featured the Sashing of Candidates for Mr. and Ms. ASU Banga 2025, where representatives from each department proudly stepped forward to carry their college colors with pride and honor.

Aklan State University (ASU) proudly congratulates its 16 new Registered Professional Foresters who successfully passed the October 2025 Foresters Licensure Examination, as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
ASU–Banga recorded an overall performance rating of 61.54%, showcasing the university’s continued commitment to providing quality education and fostering excellence in the field of forestry.
This achievement demonstrates ASU’s dedication to producing competent and environmentally responsible professionals who contribute to sustainable forest management and the protection of the environment.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: PAINDIS-INDIS 2025 OFFICIALLY OPENS AT ASU–IBAJAY!
October 20, 2025
The vibrant celebration of unity, culture, and athletic excellence kicked off yesterday as Aklan State University–Ibajay opened PAINDIS-INDIS 2025, a weeklong festivity themed “Harmony in Motion: Sports, Culture, and the Arts toward Sustainable Futures.”
The opening ceremony was filled with energy and school spirit as students, faculty, and staff joined the grand parade, cultural performances, and sports competitions that showcased their creativity, talent, and camaraderie. 🌿✨
This year’s PAINDIS-INDIS highlights ASU–Ibajay’s commitment to fostering holistic student development through a balanced celebration of sports, culture, and the arts, promoting unity and sustainable futures within the academic community.

𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐉𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐀𝐒 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐒𝐔 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Aklan State University warmly welcomed the research delegation from the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) during a courtesy visit to University President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin on October 21, 2025.
The JIRCAS team was led by Dr. Satoshi Honda, Project Leader of the Fisheries Division, together with Mr. Tomoyuki Okutsu (Senior Researcher), Mr. Minoru Sato (Researcher), and Mr. Isao Tsutsui (Researcher). Joining them were Dr. Yasmin Tirol of ASU-New Washington and Prof. Modesto Intoy of the ASU College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.
The visit reinforces the strong partnership between JIRCAS and Aklan State University as both institutions prepare for the implementation of a new collaborative research project set to commence next year. The team also aims to conduct field inspections around the Batan Estuary and wet markets in Kalibo and Batan, in coordination with the University’s Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty.
This engagement underscores ASU’s commitment to advancing international collaboration, research innovation, and sustainable fisheries development—bridging science, education, and community for a more sustainable future.

ASU, CapSU, and PNEE Forge Academic Partnership for Environmental Education
Aklan State University (ASU), Capiz State University (CapSU), and the Philippine Network of Environmental Educators (PNEE) officially sealed an academic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on October 15, 2025, at Paradise Garden Resort, Boracay Island. The signing took place during the International Conference on Environmental Education in Southeast Asia (iCEESEA 2025).
The agreement underscores the three institutions’ shared commitment to advancing collaboration in environmental education, research, innovation, and extension programs—all geared toward promoting sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
Signing the MOU were Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, President of Aklan State University; Dr. Efren L. Linan, President of Capiz State University; and Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon, President of the Philippine Network of Environmental Educators.

ASU Joins the 2025 RAISE Summit Week in Tagaytay City
Aklan State University (ASU), through its Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) project team, is set to participate in the RAISE Summit Week on October 13–16, 2025, at Hotel Casiana, Tagaytay City, Cavite.
Organized under the DOST-PCAARRD National RAISE Program, the summit gathers representatives from 94 state universities and colleges (SUCs) and research and development institutes (RDIs) across 15 regions nationwide. This collaborative event aims to strengthen innovation ecosystems and advance technology-driven solutions in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sectors.
With the theme “Building Bridges through ALIGNment, CONNECtion, and SYNChronization for Agri-Aqua Innovation,” the summit will serve as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and the co-creation of solutions to address the pressing challenges in agriculture and aquaculture. Participants will take part in interactive sessions, innovation exhibits, and showcases designed to accelerate science-based innovations, highlight best community-led practices, and foster sustainable partnerships that drive inclusive growth and resilience within the agri-aqua value chain.
ASU’s participation underscores its continued commitment to fostering interagency collaboration, promoting technology transfer, and advancing sustainable development through research and innovation that benefit local communities and the broader AANR sector.
