On October 23, 2025, CMS Marvin M Jurane PA, the Sergeant Major of the Philippine Army, conducted a courtesy visit to COL EDGAR G MANGABAY INF (GSC) PA, Group Commander of the 7th Regional Community Defense Group (7RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, at Camp Lapulapu, Apas, Cebu City.
The activity formed part of the Sergeant Majorโs regular field engagements with subordinate and Reserve units aimed at strengthening the Armyโs morale and welfare programs, particularly for enlisted personnel. During the visit, CMS Jurane interacted with the unitโs Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and troops, discussing issues related to career development, leadership, discipline, and overall troop welfare.
In his message, CMS Jurane underscored the vital role of enlisted personnel in sustaining the Armyโs operational effectiveness and community defense initiatives. He encouraged the troops to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service excellence, in line with the Armyโs core values of Honor, Patriotism, and Duty.
Meanwhile, Colonel Mangabay expressed his appreciation for the visit, noting that such engagements provide valuable opportunities for open communication and guidance that contribute to the continued motivation and readiness of the commandโs personnel.
