Digos City Police Investigate shooting Incident

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur - At around 3:20 AM on August 4, 2025, the Digos City Police Station received a report regarding a shooting incident that transpired at Purok Manggahan, Barangay Tres de Mayo, Digos City particularly near at Lucero Bingkahan.

The victim was identified as Mirasol Binghay, of legal age, a vendor, and a resident of Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was approached by an unidentified male suspect and engaged in a brief conversation.

A misunderstanding reportedly arose, prompting the suspect to draw a firearm and shoot the victim once in the stomach before fleeing the scene in the direction of Cotabato,

The victim was immediately rushed to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital for medical treatment and is currently undergoing care.

Crime scene investigators recovered one (1) spent cartridge case of an undetermined firearm at the scene. The evidence will be forwarded to the Davao del Sur Provincial Forensic Unit (DSPFU) for ballistic examination to aid in the ongoing investigation.

Digos CPS personnel are conducting a hot pursuit operation to locate and apprehend the suspect.

The Digos City Police Station urges anyone with information regarding this incident to contact this office immediately. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.

AMBULANCE HITS MOTORCYCLE IN BANSALAN HIGHWAY

PRESS RELEASE
BANSALAN, Davao del Sur – On July 29, 2025, at around 5:20 PM, the Bansalan Municipal Police Station hotline received a phone call from a concerned citizen reporting a vehicular accident at Barangay Poblacion Uno, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Immediately, the duty traffic investigator of this station responded to the location to verify the incident. Initial investigation revealed that the accident occurred along the Davao-Cotabato National Road, specifically at the intersection of Gumamela Street and Rambutan Street, near Rose Bakeshop, Barangay Poblacion Uno, Bansalan.

The vehicles involved were a Nissan Urvan ambulance, registered under the name Province of Cotabato, Amas, Kidapawan City, driven by Florencio Manila Librea, 51 years old, male, a resident of Poblacion, Libungan, North Cotabato, and a Honda Click motorcycle driven by Jerix Patricio Manceras, 47 years old, male, married, with back rider Reymart Superales, 29 years old, single. Both are residents of Barangay Colorado, Digos City.

According to the investigation, the Honda Click motorcycle came from Sitio Balutakay, Barangay Managa, Bansalan, and was en route to Digos City.

Upon reaching the intersection of Gumamela and Rambutan Streets, the motorcycle crossed toward the innermost lane of the National Highway heading toward Cotabato Road.

At this moment, the ambulance which was traversing the National Highway from Davao City towards Libungan, North Cotabato accidentally struck the left side of the motorcycle.

As a result of the collision, the Honda Click motorcycle crashed into the concrete pavement.

Both the driver and the back rider sustained injuries and were immediately transported to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City by responding personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

The driver of the ambulance was brought to the Bansalan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. Both vehicles involved, which sustained damages, were also held for documentation and further investigation.

LALAKI, GITIGBAS-PATAY SA IGSUON; KAPUYO UG 11 KA BUWAN NGA ANAK, GITIGBAS SAB

Nabulit sa samad-tinigbasan ang tibuok lawas sa usa ka 34-anyos nga biktima, samtang samdan sab ang iyang kapuyo ug 11 ka buwan nga anak human nga giatake sa mismo niyang igsuon, mga alas 3:00 sa kadlawon, Hulyo 20, 2025 sa usa ka compound sa Purok 1-B, Baring, Barangay Wangan, Calinan District, siyudad sa Davao.

Mga biktima mao sila alyas John, 34-anyos, usa ka construction worker, iyang kapuyo nga si Ana, hingkod ug ang ilang 11-month old nga anak nga molupyo sa nahisgutang dapit. Ang suspek, igsuon mismo sa biktima nga si June (bansagon gitago), 39-anyos ug usa ka laborer.

Sumala pa nga una pa man ang insidente, nag-inom pa ang biktima ug ang suspek hangtud alas 10 sa gabii, Hulyo 19.

Apan kadlawon sa Hulyo 20, niuli matud pa si June sa ilang balay ug nanghasi sa iyang asawa ug miakusar nga may relasyon sa iyang igsuon nga si John. Tungod sa kainit sa ulo sa suspek, miiktad matud pa ang iyang asawa ug tulo ka mga anak mipakitabang sa duol nga plantasyon.

Wala pa nahuman ang suspek, midiretso sa balay sa igsuon nga nagdala og pinuti. Iyang gipugos og sulod ang balay ni alyas John ug didto na nahitabo ang komprontasyon. Gisuwayan sa biktima nga si John nga protektahan ang pamilya apan giayo siyag tigbas sa kaugalingong igsuon. Ang kapuyo sa biktima nga si Ana, misuway og tabang apan lakip siya, natigbasan sa suspek ingon man ang 11 ka buwan nilang anak.

Patay diha-diha sa gawas sa panimalay si alyas John nga halos dili na maila kay naantimano ang nawong sa mga tinigbasan. Si "Ana" natabang sa silingan ug madala sa SPMC, samtang ang ilang anak, nadala sa duol nga balay-tambalanan og luwas na sa makuyaw nga kahimtang.

Nadakpan sab ang suspek sa kapulisan ug gisurender ang gigamit nga hinagiban sa krimen. Rason niya, nahimo niya ang pagpatay tungod sa selos sa pagtuong may relasyon iyang asawa ug ang biktima.

Kasong murder ug frustrated murder ang atubangon ni alyas June tungod sa mangilngig nga krimen.

Padada Mayor Frashale Guerrero dismissed over Two Misconduct Cases

The Office of the Ombudsman has officially dismissed Mayor Frashale Guerrero of Padada, Davao del Sur after finding him guilty in two separate administrative cases filed by different complainants.

The penalties are:
1. Dismissal from service;
2. Cancellation of eligibility;
3. Forfeiture of retirement benefits, and;
4. Perpetual disqualification from holding public office.

While appeals may still be filed, the decision is IMMEDIATELY EXECUTORY (Section 7, Rule III of the Rules of Procedure of the Office of the Ombudsman).

***Sa akong previous statement about corruption, it can also refer to any abuse of power, position, or authority for personal gain, and dile sya always financial, or money involved.

Corruption can also be defined as quietly, systematically, and deceptively done in non-monetary ways that are just as damaging, sometimes even more insidiously so.

In the case of Mayor Frashale, he was corrupted with his nature of abusing his authority.

Gikumpirma sa imbestigasyon nga nagkalalis ang biktima ug ang lalaki nga gitumbok nga suspek, nga kasamtangang naa na sa kustodiya sa kapulisan.

Si Gellangarin nakaangkon og tulo ka samad pinusilan sa lawas nga miresulta sa iyang dihang pagkamatay.
