In line with the official public advisory issued by the Municipal Government of Bansalan, Marber National High School announces that the suspension of classes is hereby LIFTED.

Accordingly, in-person classes at all grade levels will resume tomorrow, June 10, 2026.

As we welcome everyone back, our top priority remains the safety and well-being of the Marber NHS community. Please take note of the following important reminders:

1. Safety Inspection: School administration, teachers, and personnel are advised to conduct a thorough final check of their respective classrooms, offices, and facilities to ensure they are fully safe and fit for occupancy before learners enter.

A Promising Start Paused by Nature's Call

The first day of classes is often filled with excitement, anticipation, and renewed hope. For learners, it marks the beginning of new lessons and experiences. For teachers, it signifies another opportunity to inspire young minds. For parents and community leaders, it is a reminder of their shared responsibility in shaping the future of the youth.

This spirit of unity was evident as teachers, learners, parents, PTA officials, and barangay officials gathered for the school's opening of classes and Flag Raising Ceremony. Smiles, warm greetings, and words of encouragement filled the atmosphere as the school community came together to welcome a new academic year.

The program was underway, with participants actively taking part in the ceremony and opening activities, when an unexpected event suddenly shifted the day's course. A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck, prompting school authorities to immediately prioritize the safety of everyone on campus.

Classes and work were suspended as precautionary measures were implemented. Teachers and school personnel swiftly guided learners and guests in following established safety protocols, demonstrating preparedness and presence of mind amid the unexpected situation.

Although the opening-day activities were cut short, the incident highlighted more than just the challenges brought by natural disasters. It showcased the resilience, cooperation, and unity of the entire school community. In a moment of uncertainty, teachers, learners, parents, and local officials worked together to ensure that everyone remained safe.

While the earthquake interrupted what was meant to be a full day of celebration and learning, it also served as a reminder that education extends beyond the classroom. Lessons in preparedness, responsibility, and community spirit were lived and demonstrated on this very day.
