Hey space enthusiasts!
Weโre halfway through July, and the Astro Calendar has already delivered some exciting views!
Mars and Saturn have been gracing the evening skies. Mars becoming visible as dusk fades, and Saturn rising earlier in the east each night. If you havenโt caught them yet, thereโs still time to spot these planetary highlights.
The ฮฑ-Capricornid meteor shower kicked off on July 3 and will continue through August 15. Itโs produced by Comet 169P/NEAT and may bring around 5 meteors per hour at its peak so keep an eye out on clear nights.
Also active now is the Southern ฮด-Aquariids, which began on July 12 and will run until August 23. With up to 25 meteors per hour under dark skies, this shower originating from Comet P/2008 Y12 (SOHO) is one of Julyโs most active.
Check the calendar below for more skywatching events and donโt miss whatโs still to come. Look Up!
