STATEMENT
September 24, 2025

I have received disturbing information from Malacañang that a report about Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was submitted to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. by the Philippine Embassy in The Hague. The officials entered the detention unit under the false pretense of conducting a "welfare check" and interviewed FPRRD. The said officials clearly abused the rule of the detention unit concerning consular visits.

Since the month of March, there has always been at least a family member or two that visit Former President Duterte almost every day precisely to guarantee his well-being and humane treatment. The permission given by the ICC in allowing the agents of the very government that abducted FPRRD to intrude upon him, without seeking permission from family members who are in the Hague, places his life and safety in imminent danger.

If such sham "welfare checks" are allowed to continue, then the ICC and the Philippine Government must be prepared to answer, fully and directly, for any harm that comes to Former President Duterte — including, should the worst happen, his death in custody as a direct result of these intrusions — the false pretense of conducting a "welfare check." These are nothing but orders of President Marcos disguised as consular functions, and we strongly object to such visits. FPRRD does not need you, our family will take care of him.

President Marcos should know that we have several Overseas Filipinos around the world — detained, distressed, abandoned or neglected — who have not had the benefit of a single welfare check from the Philippine government. They need you but you have failed them.

We, Filipinos, deserve better.

Tila nilaglag na ang kontrobersyal na kongresistang si Zaldy Co ng kapwa niya mga kongresista, kabilang sina House Deputy Speakers Ronaldo Puno at Jhay Khonghun, at House Majority Floor Leader Sandro Marcos.

Kanilang apela kay Co: umuwi sa Pilipinas at personal na harapin ang mga alegasyon at kuwestyon kaugnay sa 2025 budget, sa halip na manatiling nasa ibang bansa para iwasan ang mainit na usapin.

Si Co, kinatawan ng Ako Bicol Party-list, ay kabilang sa “House Contingent” at isa sa namuno ng bicameral conference committee na nag-apruba ng 2025 General Appropriations Act. Subalit, imbes na maging tulay ng transparency, nabalot ang kanyang pangalan sa mga alegasyon ng iregularidad.

Kabilang sa mga kontrobersiya ni Co ang umano’y malaking impluwensiya sa alokasyon ng flood control projects, kung saan pinagdududahan ang pamamahagi at paggamit ng bilyun-bilyong pisong pondo. May mga ulat ding nag-uugnay sa kanya sa di-pantay na proyekto ng DPWH, kung saan mas malaki umano ang napupunta sa ilang distrito na konektado sa kanyang grupo kumpara sa iba.

Bukod dito, hindi rin nakaligtas si Co sa mga puna ng kanyang kapwa mambabatas at watchdog groups hinggil sa kanyang umano’y pakikipagsabwatan sa mga contractors at posibleng kickbacks mula sa malalaking infrastructure projects. Ang mga alegasyong ito ay lalong lumakas matapos ang mga pagdinig at exposé na inilabas tungkol sa katiwalian sa flood control program ng pamahalaan.

Dahil dito, tumitindi ang panawagan mula mismo sa kanyang mga kasamahan sa Kamara na linawin ni Co ang mga isyung bumabalot sa kanya upang hindi lalo pang masira ang kredibilidad ng institusyon at ng proseso ng budget legislation.

Rodriguez: ‘Budol ang pagbalik ng ₱60B sa PhilHealth’

Ayon kay Atty. Vic Rodriguez, galawang budol ang pagbalik ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng ₱60 billion sa Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) kasi wala naman savings ang kaban ng bayan, at may kinuha ang Malacanang na ₱29.9 billion mula sa PhilHealth bago sila pinigilang ng Korte Suprema.

“Dahil ramdam ang galit at hagupit ng Pilipino, isang budol na tugon ang muling ipinalabas ni Marcos. Paano niya ibabalik ang P60 billion ng PhilHealth gayong wala naman savings na pagkukunan, katunayan ay deficit pa nga ang gobyerno,” sabi ni Atty. Rodriguez.

“Kailangan sagutin kung bakit kinuha at saan ginamit ang ₱60 bilyon at paano ‘yong naunang P29.9 billion na kinuha bago makapag-isyu ng TRO ang Korte Suprema?,” dagdag niya.⁩

⁨Dela Rosa: ‘Confused ang yellow at makakaliwa kung paano sumakay sa issue’

Binatikos ni Senador Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa ang mga yellow forces at makakaliwa, particular si Akbayan partylist Rep. Perci Cendaña, dahil tila sumasakay lang sila sa isyu na malawakang korapsyon sa gobyerno, at dinadamay si Bise President Sara Duterte.

Heto ang sabi ni Rep. Cendaña:

“With the call for President Marcos’ resignation, who will benefit from these ouster calls?

“Their vice president will be the president. So let us be careful of such groups whose political calls are self-serving.”

Heto naman sagot ni Senador Bato:

Tama nanaman si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte tungkol kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., na ang kasalakuyang pangulo ay mahina at isang ehemplo nito ay ang paghawak ng pondo ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp. o PhilHealth.

Heto ang sinabi ni Tatay Digong noong Nov. 26, 2024:

“Ang tingin ko na mas mabigat ng problema na dapat malaman ng Pilipino is nag hemorrhage ang country. Pati nga yung PhilHealth na hindi dapat sa gobyerno, contribution natin yan... That is the most dangerous, at dapat — P***ng i***g, estafa 'yan!

"Government malversed the money of the people. Ginamit niyo 'yung pera ng taong bayan. Even Congress cannot do that. Trust fund 'yun..."

At heto ang sinabi ni Marcos kamakailan pagkatapos niya inutusan na ibalik ang P60 billion sa PhilHealth:

“No matter what explanation we give, no matter what we show to prove that the services covered by PhilHealth are increasing, people still worry that the services might be reduced. Actually, we are increasing them.

“That P60 billion will be returned to PhilHealth, not just to allay public worries, but because we will use it. We have savings; we will use it to further expand PhilHealth services.”
