The TLE STEP/YECS Club of Basud National High School (BNHS) closed off the Nutrition Month Celebration at the BNHS Annex Campus on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

This event was successfully held with the theme “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!”, where it enhanced the significance of food and nutrition security for all.

A fun run to the Annex campus kicked off the activities, with TLE/TVL Area Chairman Sir Julius Tabalan commencing the program with opening remarks, and Sir Jhon Christian Barbosa, Master Teacher I, giving a message of support.

Along with this, the Nutri-Hunt event was also held in the Annex campus, with students discovering fruits with rewards along with it. Laro ng Lahi games were also conducted. Afterwards, the Nutri-Feast event was held in each section, encouraging each student to eat nutritious food.

Meanwhile, the Nutri-Battle event was held in the afternoon session, where several learners showed off their singing and dancing talents through energetic performances.

According to Ma'am Daianna Serrano, TLE STEP/YECS Club Adviser, she expected the event to be a great opportunity for learners to grasp the importance of nutrition and healthy living, and also hoped that it would be a fun and engaging experience for everyone involved. She was also thankful for the support from the BNHS community and for making the event a success.

“I'm thrilled with the outcome! Witnessing the active participation of both students and teachers made me realize that we're slowly getting back to the excitement of celebrating Nutrition Month. It's been five school years since we last celebrated it due to the pandemic, so it's wonderful to see everyone embracing the spirit again.” Ma’am Serrano added.

Furthermore, the events for the day were wrapped up with a raffle, with several students winning prizes. The Antukin band finished off the event with one last intermission number.

This 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟓 is 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we don’t just commemorate — we resist, write, and rise.

Basud National High School (BNHS), spearheaded by the TLE STEP/YECS Club, held the Nutrition Month Celebration at the BNHS Annex Campus on Friday, July 4, 2025.

With the theme, “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!”, the event is conducted to reinforce the importance of food and nutrition security for all.

Alongside the event, the Nutri-Eat feeding program was launched, targeting selected learners with low Body Mass Index (BMI) or those considered wasted or stunted in growth.

A parade to the Annex campus commenced the festivities, with Mrs. Amelita B. Castro leading a zumba dance session to keep the crowd energized, with some learners showcasing their skills in front of the crowd.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Mrs. Daianna Reyes Serrano, TLE STEP/YECS Club Adviser, when asked about her reactions, said they were excited for the event, as this event has only been conducted after more than 5 years.

“Matagal nang hindi nagkaroon ng nutrition month, at ngayon lang din nagkaroon. Tapos, nakaka-amaze ‘yung mga Grade 7 natin, kasi they are very disciplined, hindi nagbubuklod sa pila,” Mrs. Serrano said.

Guest Speaker Mrs. Lerma S. Rubio, Nurse II, gave a speech where she explained the Pinggang Pinoy, along with the components of Go, Grow, and Glow foods, discussed the negative effects of consuming junk food, and stressed the significance of eating foods high in iron for blood.

Furthermore, the Nutrition Month for this year, 2025 was held in line with the DepEd Region V Regional Memorandum (RM) 790, s. 2025.
