Lucena City, Quezon โ€“ 4 October 2025 โ€“ The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Office IV successfully conducted a Mobile Basic Safety Training from October 2 to 4, 2025, at Brgy. Cotta, Lucena City. The three-day training session saw the active participation of 19 individuals, primarily aimed at enhancing the safety awareness and preparedness of local seafarers.

The Mobile Basic Safety Training, organized by MARINA's Seafarer Documentation Section, is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to provide essential safety education and certification to maritime workers across the region. The program focuses on key areas such as fire safety, first aid, personal survival techniques, and emergency procedures, ensuring that participants are equipped with the necessary skills to handle emergencies at sea.

This mobile training initiative is particularly significant for seafarers in remote areas, allowing them to access vital safety training without the need to travel long distances. By bringing the training directly to Brgy. Cotta, MARINA aims to make safety resources more accessible and to strengthen the overall safety culture within the local maritime community.

The successful completion of the training is expected to enhance the participants' qualifications, improve their safety practices, and contribute to safer maritime operations in the region. MARINA continues to prioritize the welfare of seafarers and the enhancement of maritime safety standards in line with national regulations.
