𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 ‘𝟮𝟱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

With 20 saplings prepared to be planted, Batangas State University, The National Engineering University - Alangilan, and its Extension Campuses’ students, administration, and staff, gathered to celebrate KaLIKHAsan Eco-Fest 2025’s tree-planting initiative, held at KIST Park, December 18.

In his opening remarks, University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo affirmed that the initiative, aside from being a symbol of creativity, signifies the university’s commitment to protecting nature.

“At any rate, we are giving meaning to what we are doing. We need to have Likha, the creativity, to protect [nature],” Dr. Ronquillo urged. “We need to do more after this.”

Fruit-bearing saplings such as Lanzones, Rambutan, Pomelo, Durian, Jackfruit, Avocado, Guava, and Mango were among the festival’s priority species, highlighting the event’s support for biodiversity and long-term sustainability.

𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗨’𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻

The country’s National Engineering University faces a storage crisis for the first time this academic year, with its Google Workspace platform surpassing the 486.36‑terabyte limit today, December 6.

This came after the publication received queries from students stating they could not access Google applications like Gmail and open their stored files through their Google Suite accounts.

It was not the first time that the university encountered issues on the Google Workspace cap, as The AXIS documented the initial cases of full GDrive memory dated back to November 14 and December 9, 2023, followed by another incident on April 16 in 2024, before the problem resurfaced this year.

As of the press time, BatStateU’s ICT services have yet to release a statement regarding the full storage fiasco, but users of the university’s workspace are urged to free up their Google Drive space and comply with the allotted 10-gigabyte limit per person to help stabilize GSuite operations.

The institution’s full storage capacity remained a dilemma of the Red Spartans since the NEU’s subscription shifted from Google Workspace Education Plus to Basic Education, which took effect last February 3, 2023.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬

All classes scheduled from 1:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, will shift to online delivery following an approved campus power interruption, as announced by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA).

Faculty members, including permanent, temporary, and guest lecturers, are likewise instructed to work from home beginning at 1:00 PM to continue online instruction.

The shutdown will take place in light of the scheduled repair of the existing ATS1 at BatStateU The NEU – Alangilan, which is necessary to enable the lighting of multiple buildings and ensure the full utilization of the new generator set.

The premier National Engineering University elevated its agricultural hallmark as Ms. Gwyneth Gonzales Villarin sprouted to third spot with a 91.52% performance in the November 2025 Agriculturists Licensure Examination.

Villarin sliced through University of the Philippines - Los Baños’ strong presence in the top five, marking a standout performance for BatStateU The NEU - Lobo on the national stage.

Batangas State University, The National Engineering University - Lobo Campus entered the month of December on a triumphant note as its graduates bloomed with an impressive 89.74% passing rate, with 35 out of 39 examinees in the November 2025 Agriculturists Licensure Examination (LEA) released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), today, December 2.

6,678 out of 9,742 takers passed nationwide, marking a 68.55% national passing rate.

The Interior Design Edifying Auxiliary of Students (IDEAS) continues to extend their advocacy for inclusivity through PINTA 2025 Flower Pot Painting exhibition, held today, November 29, at Waltermart, Batangas City.

Now on its third year, the initiative once again opened a platform for the Special Education (SPED) students to showcase their talents in artistry.

Audience piled up at the venue to view and appreciate the creative outputs, which display deep emotions and imagination of the SPED learners.

Prior to the exhibition, IDEAS gathered almost 50 gifted students of Batangas East Elementary School to paint the flower pots with their diverse abilities and creativity, in celebration of the Children's Month, promoting inclusivity, appreciation, and empowerment of everyone within the society.

The organization mentioned the ongoing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between IDEAS and the Batangas East Elementary School to officially establish partnership and launch yearly event as part of the National Children's Month every November.

Meanwhile, they also vow to strengthen their programs and activities each year to sustain and deepen the project's advocacy.

𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴’𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗘𝗨 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗽

Two topnotchers reconstructed the premier National Engineering University’s ranking in the November 2025 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination (CELE) after nine years, today, November 29.

Mr. Eduard Anthony M. Camano and Mr. John Lester P. Galit landed in 6th and 9th place, respectively, with 90.35% and 90.00% in the topnotcher column, establishing the university’s performance at 59.42%.

Following Mr. Alvin C. Sanvictores with 91.95% back in November 2016, Camano and Galit led the 39 other BatStateU, The NEU CELE passers to bend past the national rating of 30.39%.
