𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬

Malacañang issued Memorandum Circular No. 96 last September 19, suspending work in all government offices under the Executive Branch starting 1:00 p.m. onwards on Monday, September 22, in observance of "Family Week" and "Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day."

In line with this directive, classes on all levels in both public and private schools are likewise suspended to give way to the said activity.

However, government agencies whose functions involve vital services, such as the delivery of basic and health services, shall continue their operations as scheduled.

The directive aims to highlight the importance of spending quality time with family, strengthening bonds, and nurturing a happier community, in celebration of the 33rd National Family Week.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗚𝗖𝗛 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗦𝗨-𝗔𝗹

Regular tricycle fare from Golden Country Homes (GCH) Subdivision to Batangas State University Alangilan Campus has increased from ₱8 to ₱10 due to the continuous rise in oil prices.

Gasoline and diesel have experienced five and four consecutive weeks of price increases, respectively, causing concerns among drivers.

“Tumaas na rin kasi ang presyo ng gasolina. Nahihirapan na kaming mag-boundary,” explained by Mr. Jerebi Rocero, a member of the GCH Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association.

The said fare applies to trips with four passengers, while the rate for a special solo ride to the campus remains at ₱30.

𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺, 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃-𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿

Alumni and graduating students from the premier National Engineering University presented their resumes to top employers in hopes of accelerating their career development through the first-ever NEU University-Wide Career Fair 2025, held at SPARTA Gymnasium, September 12.

Nearly 300 job applicants travelled the distance to engage with 18 partner companies just to pursue opportunities they haven’t found anywhere else.

“It’s a sacrifice for me. Kasi, sobrang limited ng mga opportunities for my course sa aking kinalakihang province,” Renz Arvin Callejo, a newly licensed Mechanical Engineer alumnus from Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, shared.

Participating companies aimed to help job seekers, both first-time and professionals, to expedite their career development despite the rising unemployment rate, which jumped to 5.3 percent, equivalent to 2.59 million individuals, from 4.7 percent in July, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The job fair is open until 4:00 pm to allow companies to meet potential employees and professionals from the university.

𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗕𝗧𝗟, 𝗜𝗟𝗢𝘀

College of Engineering and Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) Alangilan, in collaboration with the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education (CIEE), endeavored to create a more student-centered approach to teaching with an orientation seminar for guest lecturers from the four colleges, titled "Advancing Student-Centered Learning: Strengthening Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning Practices," at STEER Hub, September 8.

Giving emphasis on the expected skills and knowledge that students needed to acquire, forums and workshop tackled the reconstruction of the Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) by improving the Intended Learning Outcome (ILO), Teaching and Learning Activity (TLA), and Assessment Task (AT), aiming to foster active student engagement.

"To create a very structured ILO, it is supposed to have specific, and measurable statements that define the knowledge, skills and attitudes that learners will demonstrate after completing a course," said guest speaker Engr. John Kevin M. de Castro, College of Engineering Associate Dean.

Following the said program, it is expected that lecturers be better aware of academic policies and professional responsibilities to improve teaching engagement, therefore honing the students of the campus.

Professional Regulatory Boards' (PRB) Inspection and Monitoring Team gave their first-ever visit to Batangas State University, The NEU's Metallurgical Engineering (MetE) Program, September 5, at the Science, Technology, Engineering and Environment Research Hub.

With MetE producing its pioneer graduates last July, the department's faculty discussed the implementation of their program, to which PRB's Hon. Agustin M. Fudolig, DEng, and Hon. Juancho Pablo S. Calvez shared their insights and advices on.

After that, the monitoring team continued to tour around the Materials Testing and Calibration Center and Labspace for Innovation, Knowledge-Honing Innovation and Application FABLAB located at the STEER hub.

With 10 newly passed Sanitary Engineers, BatstateU - Alangilan gained a 52.63% passing rate for Sanitary Engineering Licensure Examinations (SELE) for August 2025.

By a 0.63% margin, narrowly above the national passing rate of 52.00%, the Professional Regulation Commission announced 65 successful examinees out of 125 who took the SELE that was held on August 27.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗘𝗨 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟯 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗠𝗘𝘀

A total of three examinees from the country's NEU yielded a perfect performance for Alangilan and Balayan campuses in the August 2025 Registered Master Electrician Licensure Examination.

A total of 570 passed nationwide, accounting a national passing rate of 70.02%
