Abatan Elementary School Conducts Deworming Activity and Distributes Toothbrushes to Promote Learners' Health

ABATAN, Bauko, Mountain Province–
Abatan Elementary School successfully conducted a school-based deworming activity led by the school nurse, Ms. Sylvia Langgacao, in partnership with Barangay Health Worker Ms. Aprilyn Aluyen, as part of the school's commitment to promoting the health and well-being of its learners.

The activity aimed to protect pupils from intestinal parasitic infections, helping improve their overall health, nutrition, and readiness to learn. Prior to the administration of deworming tablets, learners were given proper orientation on the importance of deworming and its benefits in maintaining good health.

In addition to the deworming activity, toothbrushes were distributed to the pupils to support the school's oral health program. The distribution encourages learners to develop proper toothbrushing habits and maintain good oral hygiene as part of their daily routine.

The school administration expressed its sincere gratitude to Ms. Sylvia Langgacao and Ms. Aprilyn Aluyen for their dedication and continuous support in safeguarding the health of Abatan Elementary School learners. Abatan Elementary School Joins SIMEX on Alleged Bomb Threat to Strengthen School Safety Preparedness

ABATAN, Bauko, Mountain Province– Abatan Elementary School actively participated in the Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) conducted by the PNP BAUKO Municipal Police Station to enhance the school's preparedness and response to emergency situations involving an alleged bomb threat.

The activity aimed to strengthen coordination among the Philippine National Police (PNP), school personnel, local government agencies, emergency responders, and other stakeholders in ensuring the safety and security of learners, teachers, and the school community. The simulation provided participants with practical experience in responding to a bomb threat by following established emergency protocols.

During the exercise, school personnel immediately implemented the school's emergency response procedures upon receiving the simulated bomb threat. Learners and staff were calmly and orderly evacuated to the designated safe assembly area while the Bauko Municipal Police Station, in coordination with other response agencies, secured the school premises and conducted the necessary assessment and response procedures.

The SIMEX emphasized the importance of remaining calm, communicating effectively, and working collaboratively during emergency situations. It also highlighted the vital role of preparedness, proper planning, and regular drills in minimizing risks and ensuring the safety of everyone within the school.

ABATAN, Mountain Province – July 6, 2026 – In response to Schools Division of Mountain Province Advisory No. 4, s. 2026, Abatan Elementary School actively participated in the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award on Monday, July 6, 2026.

The activity was conducted during the school's regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony in compliance with the advisory issued by the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent. Teachers, school personnel, and learners gathered to pay tribute to the Philippine flag while reflecting on the significance of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award and its importance in upholding the country's sovereign rights and promoting respect for international law.

As part of the observance, school personnel shared key information about the arbitral ruling, helping learners better understand its relevance to the nation's history, territorial integrity, and peaceful resolution of international disputes. BRIGADA PLUS CONTINUES: PARENTS PREPARE CLASSROOMS FOR HIGHER GRADE LEARNERS

ABATAN, July 6, 2026 – Demonstrating the true spirit of volunteerism and community partnership, parents of Abatan Elementary School actively participated in the Brigada Plus initiative held on Saturday, July 6, 2026, by cleaning and preparing classrooms that will be utilized by higher grade learners this school year.

The activity brought together dedicated parents who willingly volunteered their time and effort to ensure that the classrooms are clean, safe, and conducive to learning. Participants swept floors, dusted windows and furniture, cleaned walls, arranged classroom fixtures, and disposed of waste materials to make the learning spaces ready for occupancy.

This collective effort is part of the school's continuing commitment to provide a welcoming and learner-friendly environment while addressing the increasing enrollment and classroom requirements for higher grade pupils.
