Abatan Elementary School Conducts Deworming Activity and Distributes Toothbrushes to Promote Learners' Health
ABATAN, Bauko, Mountain Province–
Abatan Elementary School successfully conducted a school-based deworming activity led by the school nurse, Ms. Sylvia Langgacao, in partnership with Barangay Health Worker Ms. Aprilyn Aluyen, as part of the school's commitment to promoting the health and well-being of its learners.
The activity aimed to protect pupils from intestinal parasitic infections, helping improve their overall health, nutrition, and readiness to learn. Prior to the administration of deworming tablets, learners were given proper orientation on the importance of deworming and its benefits in maintaining good health.
In addition to the deworming activity, toothbrushes were distributed to the pupils to support the school's oral health program. The distribution encourages learners to develop proper toothbrushing habits and maintain good oral hygiene as part of their daily routine.
The school administration expressed its sincere gratitude to Ms. Sylvia Langgacao and Ms. Aprilyn Aluyen for their dedication and continuous support in safeguarding the health of Abatan Elementary School learners. Through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Education and the local health sector, the school continues to promote healthy practices that contribute to a safe, healthy, and learner-friendly school environment.
