Exciting things ahead for Baybay City! 🌄✨
Last Thursday, October 30, Mayor Boying and key department heads started their day early with a site inspection at the Eastern Sea of Clouds, the proposed location for our future view deck. ☁️
Right after, the team checked on the ongoing construction of the Baybay City Evacuation Center and Fire Station of the BFP, which are both set to be completed very soon. 🏗️

On October 29, 2025, Mayor Jose Carlos L. Cari and other City Officials joined the World Bank’s technical mission via Zoom Conference for the Strengthening Local Government Finance and Development to Build Urban Resilience in the Philippines Technical Assistance Program.

The consultation gathered insights from select LGUs and ULAP National Executive Board Members to discuss key findings of the ongoing Urban Diagnostics and identify ways to further enhance local investment planning, financing, and climate-resilient infrastructure development.

Baybay City proudly takes part in these collaborative efforts toward stronger, smarter, and more resilient local governance.

Proud Moment for Baybay City!

On October 29, the City of Baybay, through the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Ernesto Butawan, was awarded as the Provincial Champion (Component City Category) during the Local Legislative Award held at the Binaybayon Complex.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) also conferred special recognitions - Best Performing Sanggunian Secretary’s Office and Model Sanggunian Office - in acknowledgment of Baybay’s commitment to excellence in local legislation.

Building Stronger Partnerships for Progress 🤝

Yesterday, October 28, Mayor Jose Carlos L. Cari welcomed key agency representatives in a series of courtesy calls aimed at strengthening collaboration and sustaining local development efforts.

First, RD Dir. Lirio T. Ilao-Oximar and team from PDEA met with the Mayor to reinforce partnerships in the city’s ongoing anti-drug programs and advocacy initiatives.

On the same day, PhilFIDA OIC RD Joseph S. Salas presented a Plaque of Appreciation to the City of Baybay for its unwavering support to the abaca industry. This is in recognition of the city’s continued efforts to uplift abaca farmers and sustain industry growth.

Mayor Boying’s first order of business yesterday, October 28, was a coordination meeting attended by representatives from the LGU, City Health Unit, CDRRMO, Baybay City Water District, PNP, BFP, and the City Traffic Management and Terminal Office.

This was immediately followed by the action planning of the Incident Management Team to ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day.

Earlier today, October 9, 2025, Baybay City Mayor Jose Carlos Cari, Vice Mayor Atty. Ernesto Butawan, and SP Members Dominic Murillo, RR Veloso, and Macmac Guinocor, together with City Administrator Atty. Florante Cayunda Jr., CDRRM Officer Engr. Rhyse Austero, CPD Officer Engr. Patrick Postrero, paid a courtesy visit to Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro to personally hand over LGU Baybay City’s financial assistance in the amount of P500,000.00 intended to help them in their relief and recovery efforts for those affected by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake last September 30, 2025.

Yesterday marked a truly historic moment for our city! We officially celebrated the Blessing and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of the New City Health Office! 🏥🎊

This state-of-the-art facility is a testament to our commitment to the health and well-being of every Baybayanon. A major investment in our future, giving our medical personnel the necessary resources to excel in their field. We believe that great healthcare is a right, and with this new office, we are taking a massive leap forward in addressing everyone's health concerns.🏥

We also witnessed the distribution of Information Technology (IT) equipment across various barangays. This initiative aims to directly improve each barangay's operational productivity and service delivery.
