A showcase on the Rice-to-Vegetable Production Conversion Program was held yesterday, July 30 at Brgy. Gacat, highlighting the potential of converting suitable rice production areas into productive vegetable farms that support food security, farmer livelihood, and local food resiliency.
Participants also had the opportunity to experience pick-and-pay at Ms. Luzviminda Avelino's farm, where they could harvest and purchase fresh, locally grown vegetables directly from the farm.
The activity was attended by Mayor Boying, City Administrator Jun Cayunda, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, alongside farmers and other stakeholders.
Together, we continue to cultivate a more resilient and food-secure Baybay City, one farm at a time.
Kudos to the City Agriculture Office, led by OIC Ms. Emmylou Bengalan, Rice Sector Head Ms. Myrna Albuera, and all the dedicated extension workers for their continued efforts in advancing sustainable agriculture and strengthening food resiliency in the city. 🌾🥬🥕
